I took it as them saying they are getting black which looks ghetto.  Sounds racist to me but i guess it's up to interpretation.

Did I read the article wrong?  I thought they were saying their skin color was getting ghetto - from tanning too much?  Not saying Bayleigh is ghetto?

I'm so white I burn within 5 minutes of being in the sun.  I don't get the tanning obsession anyhow, having had skin cancer once at a young age.  Maybe they are viewing their tan as a dirt color?  Cause the few times I have tanned, it's looked...dirty hehe  Like I was covered in a layer of brown dirt.
