Big news out of Bachelor Nation this morning: Arie Luyendyk Jr. is going to be your next Bachelor. If you're asking, "Who?" that is an appropriate response because we haven't seen much of Arie since he was the runner-up on Emily Maynard's 2012 season of The Bachelorette. 2012. For context, that's two full years before Bachelor in Paradise even started.
And get this: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arie was the first pick for the 2015 season of The Bachelor, but ABC went with Chris Soules instead because Arie hadn't been on the franchise in two years. If he was too far removed back then, why now, five years later? "The decision was very last minute," a source told The Hollywood Reporter. Yeah, no shit.
I mean, the man has gray hair now it's been so long. Just look at him discussing the announcement on Good Morning America this morning:

Now compare that with this photo, which was clearly taken from his 2012 season

I vaguely remember liking Arie during Emily's season, but this choice raises a lot of obvious questions: Is Mercury in retrograde? (No.) What's wrong with Hot Peter? He's very hot! Why not Kenny? He was a fan favorite, and his daughter would make a sweet co-star. Does this means the franchise is done pretending to address its diversity problem? Unfortunately, I think yes.

But, fine, we're going with Arie, so let's get to know a little about him: He's 35, he lives in Arizona, and he's a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner turned real estate agent (so expect a season filled with cars and racing and...oh God, I'm already bored). He also seems to be very aware how weird this is, but he's not worried about the haters (like myself): "Now that I've had some time and distance away from it, it feels like the feeling I had before I went into it the first time," he told People. "I'm not concerned what people think. I'm just focused on the outcome. I want to find my person and will do whatever it takes!"

I would be shocked if Kevin complained.   He's from the era where you just suck it up buttercup.  Plus it seems like his upbringing was the type, neighborhood wise, where you just dealt with it.  And he's far too much of a man (Paul and Josh, and Jason even can learn some lessons on how to be a man from Kevin) to give it back to them in the way they are giving to him.

I wonder......while I agree Paul...deserves to win (oh I hate typing that!) if maybe once he's out of the house, Kevin won't see what really has been going on, and lead the jury to vote for whoever is next to Paul (Josh or , Raven I'd assume).    Now that would make for fun tv.  And Paul is such a bully, I'd be ok with it.  Well.  Maybe not Raven.  Raven or Paul.   Lesser of two evils.   Paul would be a second time loser.  After all his unnecessary bullying, I'm all for that.  But Raven being compensated for being a useless hypochondriac?  Tough call.

Yea, i think Kevin just deals with it but yea i guess no one said anything.  I get that.  It's very blatant though.  I'm fine with wanting to get people out etc but the bullying/isolating is for nothing.  I didn't like Jess and cody but i was disgusted when the whole house did it to them too.  It's just for their own fun and not for any purpose in the game.

I think what she is also saying is NO one has said anything to production. about it.
I think if they would complain in the diary room then something would be done. But yes Julie is taking a soft approach to this. I wish Kevin would have said something.

Sorry Julie Chen but there was clear bullying in the house.  She's trying to say we aren't seeing what we are seeing.  Don't believe your lying eyes.  I see how they isolate people and tell them to shut up.  I see them saying they are going to make others make fun of someone else and taunt them to make them miserable.  I'm sorry but Julie only sees certain things, she doesn't watch the live feeds.  There were several people bullied by an entire group of people and even more by Paul.   We aren't all making that up.

So this has been discussed . Unless the person says anything they let it go.  I still think a line should be drawn and you don't step over it..  In red, below, Julie nailed it

Julie Chen on Big Brother bullying accusations: 'No one has come forward' to claim abuse

Posted on September 6, 2017 at 10:07pm EDT
Big Brother season 19 has had its fair share of "bad behavior," as host Julie Chen put it, but it hasn't necessarily been worse than previous installments on the hit CBS reality show.
"I think there are summers in the past where the behavior has been worse," Chen, who also cohosts the CBS daytime talk show The Talk, told EW during a Facebook Live interview Wednesday. "Part of the game is that we don't interfere with what's happening. Anyone who we feel like is getting bullied, they don't necessarily feel like it; they're just living Big Brother. If they're in the Diary Room saying, 'I can't take it, this is abuse,' that's a different thing. No one has come forward and said that."
The current season has the same high-drama blowouts audiences have come to expect on any season of Big Brother, but this year arguably seemed to feel like more houseguests were being specifically, socially targeted. Certain contestants' lives were purposefully made living hells, sometimes for silly annoyance (thanks to Josh Martinez and his pot-and-pan banging) but other times for vicious torment. Megan Lowder left the house just days after the season 19 premiere following the Head of Household competition when Josh called her a "snake" and "bully," later accusing her of "disgusting" game play.
Chen worries that viewers — herself included — may be looking at everything with a more incriminating eye than necessary, though.
"We also see after a day a lot of self-correction; there's so much activity in the house that things always settle down," she said. "Sometimes when I've interviewed evicted houseguests about x, y, and z they're like, 'Oh no, we were kidding, we're good. I'm going to be best friends with these people.' So sometimes it's us making a bigger deal not knowing what it's like to be in that person's shoes. It's Big Brother."
There's no mistaking, however, that this season is unlike most others — though not for its bad behavior. Chen pointed to one person for changing the way the game has been played.
"The general feeling I have about this season is that it's not Big Brother, it's Big Paul. Paul is running the house. Paul is the puppet master and everyone inside the house is happy to be led by him, and that to me is amazing that he's got them all fooled," she told EW. "He's like the Big Bad Wolf and at the end he's going to take off the cloak and take that check away from you."
Big Brother airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET. Watch more of Chen and her cohosts on The Talk — season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 11, on CBS stations — in the video above.
