Masterchef Recap 08/28/19 Season 10 Episode 21 "Family Reunion"

Tonight on FOX Gordon Ramsay's Masterchef returns with an all-new episode on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, season 10 episode 20 called "Family Reunion," and we have your weekly Masterchef recap below. On tonight's Masterchef episode as per the FOX synopsis, "The stakes in the MASTERCHEF kitchen are even higher this week as the Top Seven take on another immunity challenge – but this time, it's personal.

Family members and loved ones of the Top Seven make a surprise visit to the MASTERCHEF kitchen to watch the contestants make their favorite family-inspired dishes in order to impress the judges and avoid elimination. Three of the chefs will secure their spots in the Top Six, while the remaining chefs must replicate one of Gordon's Michelin Star-winning dishes – at his pace. See which chefs will successfully keep up with Gordon to avoid elimination and who will fall behind."

Tonight's Master chef the top 7 chefs the theme is about comfort and support. Sarah's husband Michael is brought out. Noah's mom, Nick's Dad..Cherry's husband. Subha's wife. Dorian's husband… Sherrie's husband.

Unfortunately, Micah's family did not show up tonight due to them not supporting his dream in becoming a chef… tonight's challenge is to make the judges a dish of a favorite family dish with three chefs receiving immunity tonight. Even though Micah mother wasn't there to show support Gordon gives him some inspirational words as his dish was inspired by his mom.

Others prepare passed down generational family dishes The chefs' race to prepare the dishes with confidence as this seems to be dishes they have prepared many times before and are comfortable with the presentation in hopes of impressing the judges.

Nick prepares a poached lobster dish that doesn't do to well for the judges, Noah prepares a seabass that also falls flat, Sarah cooks salmon that finally does well with judges, Subha cooks Morrocan chicken that does ok, Sarah does a bass that's a hit, Dorian cooks a pork chop meal that the judges are split between good and her taking a step back in her progression.

Micah cooks a lamb chop that is not cooked and judges feel undercooked…the three that gets immunity are Sheri, Dorian and Sarah' leaving Noah, Nick, Micah and Subha in the bottom 4.

With the bottom four men fighting to stay in the competition they each must prepare dishes recreated from chef Gordon potato crusted sea bass and clam....they will so be cooking alongside Gordon and at his place, as he is their clock. Gordon is very fast-paced and the chefs attempt
to keep up one slip up and the chefs are doomed..for the most part they seem to be doing well with the timing until Micah cuts himself ..while the others chefs continue on to the difficult part of the dish which is the seating of the fish and the technique used to cook it.subha and Micah fish don't too well but must continue on nick and Noah take the lead.

Now comes the plating of the food as they have 60 seconds and rush to copy exactly how Gordon Ramsey plated his dish. the judges now move on to taste testing, up first is Nick which earns good reviews for taste and presentation…next up is Noah which gets praise from Gordon and does ok..Subha is next, visually his dish doesn't do good with the chefs and is a disaster and disappointment..taste wise he falls flat as well and they give him harsh criticism.

Lastly, Micah is up for review as his fish is undercooked the surrounding food like the minestrone and vegetables on the dish redeems him. Noah and Nick are safe as the two worst chefs dishes Subha and Micah land in the bottom two.. ultimately Micah is sent home as it seems not having his family's support tonight took a toll on him and has gotten him eliminated

Holly nominated Nick because he is a big threat, and she is happy that the prankster put up Christie, but she hopes the Veto doesn't change anything.

In the HOH room Jackson and Holly talk about the Veto; what scares them is that America's prankster has half the control. Jackson hopes he gets picked to play. Tommy arrives in the room, Holly asks if he knows who the prankster is, he says no. Tommy says he feels like he has to win the Veto so he is protected.

Nick and Christie are talking, Nicole is there, he says that it was the smartest thing for Holly's game to put him up, he would have done the same thing. Christie reads people really well and she knows that Nick is the prankster.

Its back to the pies, Nicole, Cliff, and Jessica have to get everyone in the house. Nick is in the diary room and he thinks they won't get him, but Nicole opens the door and gets him in the face.

Time to pick players for the Veto competition. Only six people will participate; as HOH Holly chooses first and there is slime in the box that has the players chips in the side. Holly gets houseguests choice and she chooses Jackson. Nick chooses Cliff. Christie chooses Jessica.

Zingbot is back! Zingbot asks the "morons" to follow him into the kitchen to tell them that they are the biggest group of losers that he has ever seen. Zingbot takes his round insulting the houseguests, then he goes to get a present for Nick, a bowl to get his haircut. Probably the funniest is when Zingbot asked Jackson what he should call him; Miche, Jackson or pompous douchebag.

Houseguests head outside for the Veto competition. Zingbot needs their help to escape the zing-detentionary. On go, houseguest has to maneuver their balls across the zing-detentionary and knock out each of the 27 cameras with the ball to give zingbott a clear path to escape. But the houseguests have to beware, there are many pools of zingtroleum that their balls could fall through and waste precious time.

Jackson takes a different strategy from everyone else, he starts from the top and goes down while everyone else goes from bottom to top. Jackson wins the POV and Zingbot escapes.

This is the most crushing Veto loss for Nick, although he hasn't lost all hope because Christie is on the block beside him.
