Re: [FunBBGroup] Jeff - question

Yes. I don't believe they tell them what to do outright but I think they give them different scenarios to make them think and kind of play devils advocate to make them doubt their alliance or lean one way or another.

Big Brother always seems fixed. They get away with it by saying expect the unexpected! Which means they can do anything cause they forewarned everyone there really are no set rules !

I've read several times where you say you think Survivor was rigged in Bens favor.  Why?

Just an FYI - Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother are all considered game shows, because they award a prize to someone.  I called CBS to ask over the summer actually :)   And as such, they have to follow the rules for game shows, which include not favoring for a particular player.  They have to hae everything planned before hand.  Much like Jeopardy has the questions already there, Surviviors challenges, twists, hidden immunity idols, were all planned before the contestants got to the island..

So if your view of it being rigged is you thinking they changed things mid-course, mid-game, to favor Ben, that would be VERY illegel, and the FCC would come down on them big.  Beyond that, Ben worked hard...I wasn't a fan of his until the end.  But he busted his behind to try to find the idols.  The other 6, 5, 4 there, they just didn't really do much to stop him.  They didn't even go following him.  Resting was just too important...and it cost them.

Re: [FunBBGroup] Jeff - question

Yea that is true. I don't think all the twists are preplanned on big brother. I remember them switching things sometimes and Julie explaining why they made the change. They do switch things or add Pandora's boxes if the season isn't going according to how they planned. Not necessarily to help a particular person maybe but more to make the season more interesting. And you're right that they get away with it by saying expect the unexpected. The contestants probably have to sign something acknowledging that unexpected things may happen.

Re: [FunBBGroup] Jeff - question

Big Brother will win for me.  I DVR everything anyhow.   Assuming I still have cable in February.   Still not sure if I want to keep it :)   Went without for a few years, and have had it since October, but really considering canceling soon.

Plus, for Olympic competitions, I really only like the figure skating.
