I agree with you on this too.  I was shocked that Devon had the opportunity to know in advance he'd need to build a fire and he tried and couldn't do it and thought well that's God's way of telling me not to practice or something dumb like that.  And then i guess he thought by some miracle he would be able to build a fire when he needed to when he couldn't while practicing.  I thought that was so dumb of him and made me not too upset when he lost to Ben.  Ben didn't even have the advantage of knowing ahead of time or of practicing...so that was dumb of Devon.

So I guess they are saying the twist was there before Ben lost the final comp. That is Jeff Probst's story and he is sticking to it!
It will be used again next year, so maybe it was a tweak they had thought up before !
But I can say if you do not practice your fire making skills ahead of time , before you start on the game .... you are not serious about winning !

I totally agree.  It was fixed for Ben to win.  I know Devon could've won that final fire challenge...but the odds were in favor of Ben and it gave him an opportunity that he never would've had and it was NOT an advantage for Chrissy.  It was a HUGE disadvantage that almost definitely cost her the game.  While Ben deserved the win for working hard finding idols and never giving up, he would never have been at the end if they didn't make a twist to practically fix it for him.  I guess they knew the results would've been way slanted for Chrissie if it were Devon and Ryan in the finale with her but let the game play out.  If i were Chrissie, i definitely would've felt cheated.

Oh and i also thought it was going to be returning people that made awful mistakes in the game.  I think that would've been good but all new players are good too.

What Chrissie accomplished was great and she should be extremely proud of herself. I don't know why I wasn't rooting for her. I can't put my finger on it. I wanted to like her more then I did.
When Ben found that last idol, wow! That was awesome. I just didn't care for the way he presented it at the tribal council - the Ben Bomb. I just found that a bit too egotistical.
The final challenge was also excellent and could have gone to anyone. That's how the final challenge should be I think. It was even keel. The way they do the last tribal before the final vote is good too. I like the back and forth and how everyone can get in on the conversation and it's not all those scripted one on one questions. Even Jeff getting in their with the banter was good.
 Loved hearing from Dr. Mike, he has such a great attitude! So does Devon. Really, the whole cast this time for the most part really seem to like each other and there doesn't seem to be any bitterness.
When they aired the sneak preview for next season for a minute I thought it was going to be all old cast members who had had that one epic mistake. But nope , its all newbies.Wonder how all of those past epic fails will fit in to the new theme. Some of those clips were old and I wonder if any of the younger, new players will even remember some of those "old school" players. LOL
Can't wait to read everyone else's thoughts!

Ben deserved to win.  I thought Chrissie deserved to win as well.  Yea, if Ben wasn't in the finale Chrissie for sure would've won.  I wasn't a big fan of Ben, he was very arrogant.  But i give him credit for busting his butt looking for idols while everyone else sat back.  I couldn't believe they saw him missing at one point and didn't try to stop him from finding an idol.  But Chrissie won so many challenges and also worked her butt off turning things around for herself when it was all against her.  There was something about her for me too that I didn't root for her most of the time.  I did like Devon but he and Ryan didn't really deserve to win so i'm glad it was between Ben and Chrissie basically and either of them would've deserved the win.  I did think it odd that final twist.  I wasn't a fan of it.  They said it was an advantage for chrissie but in fact it was a disadvantage and one that probably cost her the game.
