[Reality-TV-Fanatics] Nebraska Floods: 74 Cities, 65 Counties Declare A State of Emergency-- OT in some

This may be sent to some groups that makes this very off topic but doing so to see if there are Nebraskans or Iowans  in the flooded areas and hope everyone is ok .

It is being said when this is all over and done with loss could reach $3-5 Billion
We are 1 mile from the Platte . IF we get a second round when the snow melts in the western part of the state flows into Loup and Platte we could see some more damage . I think the only way we would need to worry is if the levee breaks for us to be in  danger.
Our town is below sea level

As floodwaters begin to recede, Vice President Pence announced in a tweet that he would visit Nebraska on Tuesday to take stock of the devastation.
His visit comes as 74 cities, 65 counties and four tribal areas have declared states of emergency in Nebraska, according to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency.
Additionally, nearly half of Iowa's counties are covered by Gov. Kim Reynolds' disaster proclamations.

Water submerged large swaths of those states, as well as parts of Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin, ravaging farms and swamping homes. At least four people have been killed and hundreds of others have been displaced.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted that Pence would be joined by Gov.
Pete Ricketts of Nebraska and by Reynolds.
Reynolds told reporters on Tuesday that the visit would help the vice president get a sense of the severity of the damage caused by floods.
She said 41 of Iowa's 99 counties are included in her state disaster declaration.
Steve Hespen, the sheriff of Nebraska's Dodge County, told NPR that several levees were breached in the region he patrols after a "bomb cyclone" poured torrents of rain across the region, compounded with snowmelt filling rivers and streams.
"I've lived in this area of Dodge County and Fremont all my life and this is the worst flood situation that I've ever encountered," Hespen said.

Until Monday evening, flooding around Fremont, Neb., was so severe that traffic was largely cut off from the city as most highway lanes were underwater.
Private pilots offered free flights to shuttle stranded residents in and out of the city before roads reopened, The Associated Press reported.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation has been updating residents via Twitter regarding road closures and reopenings.

Among the areas hardest hit is the agriculture business, Nebraska's leading industry, with the state's Department of Agriculture reporting up to $1 billion in expected damage to farms and livestock.
Nebraska Department of Agriculture Director Steve Wellman told reporters that the floods will have ripple effects throughout the country. "We process more red meat here than any other state," he said. Flooding of farms and barns, in addition to last week's blizzard conditions, struck as calving season — the time of year when new calves are born — was underway, he explained. "That could affect the consumer."
Wellman said it's still too early to provide a definitive stock of all the damage to the industry, and he reminded reporters that the estimate he provided does not include the significant damage to roads and other infrastructure crucial to transporting products.
"I believe recovery will be a long process," he said.

This is the latest blow to Nebraska's farmers, who have seen a 60 percent decrease in income in the past five years, Wellman said, and who lost more than $1 billion between June and November of last year because of international trade wars, according to the Nebraska Farm Bureau.

Even as waters recede from parts of the affected areas, the waters of the Missouri River — which runs from South Dakota, along the borders of Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas, and through Missouri — will continue to rise throughout the week as the flooding makes it way downstream.

The contestants are heading to the circus and when they get there, they have loads of fun. All of a sudden, there are three performers on a motorcycle, it is the three judges. Christina announces that the junior chefs will have to cook for the circus performers, there are 51 and they are hungry. The cooks have to look under their seats to find out which team they are on. Che is the Team Captain on the red team and Evie the Team Captain for the blue team. The red team will be making a pan-seared salmon with sauteed spinach, orzo and a cherry tomato salad with a herb vinaigrette. The blue team will be making a delicious grilled New York strip steak with fantastic sweet potato mash and an incredible soy vinaigrette. They have 45 minutes to prep and 60 minutes to serve.
Evie's team is not doing well and she calls a meeting and breaks down, she tells everyone it is super hard. Christina intervenes and gives Evie some words of confidence. On the other team, Che is doing a pretty good job, but Mateo is trying to help out acting like a CEO.

The performers are arriving for their meal. The red team is all over the place while the blue team is already serving their plates. The communication on the red team is getting worse. On the red team, they serve raw salmon and Chef Ramsey is not happy. Reid is the grill master, he has cooked all 51 steams by himself.
The red team and the blue team's have completed their service, but there is only one winning team; the blue team.

The red team will face the pressure test.

At the end of this challenge, at least two cooks will be going home. For this pressure test, the cooks have to make a birthday cake. Aaron's favorite is double chocolate, Christina's favorite is vanilla cake with rainbow sprinkles, and Gordon's is a football inspired lemon cake. Today, they will have to make their signature birthday cakes.
Sadie is up first, she made a Pink Champagne Cake with Rose Buttercream and Raspberry Jam. Gordon says it is a work of art, worth $25 a slice.
Tal made a Brooklyn Blackout Cake with Espresso-Chocolate Frosting and Chocolate Ganache. Christina says the cake is dry, it's below average.
Aaron made a Blueberry-Lemon Cake with Lemon Frosting. Aaron says the cake is a little underdone, but the lemon frosting is very good.
Mateo made a Vanilla Sponge Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and a Cupcake. Gordon says it is beautiful, great job.
Kate made a Tye-Dye Cake with Raspberry Frosting. Christina loves the tye-dye effect, it is delicious.
Jaala made a Vanilla Galaxy Cake with Buttercream Frosting. Aaron appreciates the look but the cake doesn't taste like any one flavor, it is all over the place.
Ashley made Four Berry Cake with Coconut-Cream Cheese Frosting. Gordon says the sponge is dense, it is sliding left to right.
Unfortunately, we are going to have to say goodbye to two cooks. But first, the judges were very impressed with performances by Kate, Aaron, Mateo, and the best cake of the evening, Sadie..
That leaves Tal, Jaala, and Ashley. Two are leaving and one is staying. Tal and Ashley are going home, Jaala is safe and heads up to the balcony.
THE END
