Chris H. gathers the men and welcomes them, he recognizes that they have been through a lot, they quarantined before they got here, quarantined when they got there – it has been a long road so far. Chris asked Dale if it was worth it since he got the first impression rose, he says yes. Chris mentions that Clare said her husband was amongst the men, then he drops the first date card on the table.. Riley, Jordan, Yosef, Ivan, Ben, Bennett, Zac C., Sach J., and Dale – "I am looking for a guy that speaks to my heart," Clare.

The men all walk up to Clare for their date and one by one hug her, Dale picks her up and swings her around. The only reason Clare included Dale was that she couldn't wait to see him again. They go into a building and Chris H. is there, he tells them they are going to step through love languages; it is how you express love. They are going to speak to Clare's heart, words of affirmation, one of the love languages. She is going to learn how they give love and receive it.

Back to the other men, they are enjoying a swim outside and getting to know each other better. Al of a sudden, the men on the date come running through the yard to their rooms. They all return to Clare with gifts. The guys share really personal stuff with her. It's not about the price tag on these things, it is about them putting sincere effort into the gift. The next love language is physical touch.

Clare puts on a blindfold and hugs and touches each of the men without knowing who they are. Clare says it is crazy how they just met each of them but she swears she knows who each of them are. With Dale, it gets a little steamy and the other men look very uncomfortable, it is touching on a deeper level and Chris H. interrupts the moment. In the end, Clare tells Chris H. that it was much needed after quarantine. In fact, she would like to do more of the touching.

The men are told to go get ready for the after-party where they will get to spend more quality time with her.

Claire arrives in a blue short evening dress, going into the evening, she wants to get to know about Dale because everything seems natural with him. She tells the men she is impressed and they brought it with the love languages; she loved that they opened up to her. There is an awkward moment, Claire asks if they want to get the night started, nobody says anything and she says don't everyone jump up at once. Bennett steps up to the plate and Claire asks him as they walk away, do you think the men don't want to spend time with me?

They go inside and sit together, Bennett tells her more about his life. But there is something on her mind, she asks him why the guys didn't get up, it really is bothering her. She gets up, goes outside, and confronts the group of men. She tells them she couldn't concentrate talking to him because she was taken back with the awkward silence, and she was embarrassed. She asks them if any of them want to spend time with her, or should she just go back to her room and go to bed. Dale says he feels like crap making her feel like that, he is on cloud nine with her. Dale takes her away and says they can argue about it later.

Riley is upset because Yosef tried to interrupt when he was going to speak to Clare and apologize. Meanwhile, Dale is thrilled to have the alone time with Claire and even sneaks some kisses in. She tells him that he scares her because of how she already feels about him. She says she totally has feelings for him, he says he feels the same way, and wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it. Clare is someone Dale could fall in love with.

There is a knock at the door for the other men, it is a date card for Jason, "love will set us free," Clare. Jason says his heart is pumping out of his chest. Riley has his turn with Clare, he apologizes and says he didn't jump out of his seat as he should have. He stands up with Clare and they dance, just like they would have in high school. She kisses him and appreciated his kindness and sincerity.

Clare goes back to speak to the group date and tells them that there is a rose and it truly was a hard decision, but at the end of the day, she gives it to Riley. Riley feels great right now, it means he is doing something right and he knows he needs to take advantage of the time he can spend with her. Dale thought he was going to get the rose.. Yosef thinks that Clare's outburst was immature and he has to address it with her, he will.

Clare sends Jason a card before their date, "I'm so excited about our date tonight. But I am also very nervous. If this journey is going to work, I need to be able to share all of me. And, that terrifies me. I hope that you can challenge yourself to be vulnerable and go deep with me as well. Before our date, please take some time to write a letter to your younger self. I am going to do the same. I am so excited about our date and I can't wait to see you later. I am incredibly hopeful that tonight will be special," love Clare.

Jason knows that in order to fall in love he has to be vulnerable, and he hopes he can do that. He admits he is scared because he doesn't like this.

On the date, Clare tells Jason that she intentionally choose him for this date. The first thing they do is stand up and scream out loud, let everything go. Then they write things down that they have been told about themselves, that has hurt them. Jason says this is the scariest thing he has ever done.

He says manipulative, she says needy, he says selfish, she says hard to love, he says can't love, she says too picky, he says insecure, she says dominant bitch, he says cold and means. He says he believed the things people said about him. She tells him that they should let go of all the things that people said about them. They take these huge rocks and throw them, then hug.

The last thing, the letters. Both are heartfelt and make the two of them emotional. They find out that they have a lot in common when it comes to relationships. He thanks her for listening and not running away.. Jason gained so many points in her book for being himself. She gives him the rose and tells him that she appreciates him being on the date and she wants to help more with his demons.

He accepts the rose and they kiss. Clare takes out the dress that she wore on the finale of the season of the Bachelor, the two take it and put it in the fire so she can put the past behind her. Claire says this is the most successful one on one date ever and she can't wait to get to know him better.

It's the second group date and the card said that Clare was looking for a man with some balls. The guys enter a gym and Clare throws soccer balls at them. Today, they are going to be playing dodge ball. Chris H. arrives and says he is splitting the men into two teams, red and blue. The winning team get to spend the evening with Clare.

Time for the dodge ball game. Clare says they should play strip dodgeball. The rules are, the game is over when the losing team has no clothes on. The whistle blows and the men start. The blue team is doing better than the red, but Jay takes out three men – so the blue team has to take off their shirts. Next, the blue team has to take off their socks. Claire tells the red team to take off their shorts, the blue team takes off their shorts. Chris H. looks embarrassed, he doesn't want to watch. The blue team loses, they have to strip naked, the red team gets the night with Clare. Some of the men do it and Clare thanks them for being good sports. The five losers return to the room, after their walk of shame.

Out of the five winners, Eazy is the first to take Clare to the side to have some alone time with her. He is so excited to see her again and hopes she pins that rose on him. Eazy gives Clare a foot massage and tells her that he appreciates a lot of things about her. Meanwhile, Blake is very upset, he walked baked to his room naked and gets no time with Clare. He gets dressed and goes to interrupt Clare on her date. Jay is speaking to Clare and not impressed with the interruption, he asks Blake, didn't you lose? Jay goes back to the men and tells them that Blake showed up to steal Clare away.

Blake tells Clare that she is there for him, and he knows he is going to take heat for stealing her away, but he doesn't care. Then, the five men walk up to Claire and Blake to interrupt them. Blake tells the men that he wanted to share with Clare that he has balls, they don't take it that way, they take it that he is a sore loser. Clare asks the men to give her some time with Blake. Clare tells Blake that she appreciates him coming but she doesn't want to disrespect the other men, she hugs him and says goodbye. He tries to kiss and she leans the other way.

Brandon gets some one on one time with Clare and it doesn't go well. He tells her that he went on the show just because she was going to be the Bachelorette because she is beautiful. But, he knows nothing about her and she is surprised. She asks if there is any other reason he wanted to come on the show and he says not really. There is a distinct awkwardness in the conversation, and she pretty much tells him off. He looks embarrassed, she tells him she feels nothing with him and has a really great group of guys, will focus more on them, and she doesn't want to pursue this anymore with him and wants to walk him out. Claire returns to the other men and tells them that Brandon is gone home.

It is the second cocktail party and rose ceremony. Blake is worried, his interrupting Clare didn't go well. Yosef on the other hand plans on giving Clare a piece of his mind about the dodge ball game and humiliating the men by having them strip naked. Clare asks to speak to Blake first. She tells him that she didn't expect him to show up last night. He says it is something that he normally wouldn't have done. She says that it was amazing for him to do and she doesn't want him to worry, or question anything. And, she has a rose for him, she doesn't want him to worry, but his mind and heart at ease; she kisses him and tells him that she wants him here.

Blake returns to the men and they are shocked to see the rose. Then, Clare spends time with Dale, they sit down and she lifts up her legs and swings them over on top of his lap. He tells her that he wants to be on all her dates. She asks him if she can kiss him. She has a gift for him, she covers his eyes with a blindfold. They kiss and touch each other, and kiss more.

THE END!

[Reality-TV-Fanatics] The Bachelorette 2020 Week 2 Recap and Live Blog

The Bachelorette 2020 Week 2 Recap and Live Blog

10/20/2020 E.M. Rosenberg RecapsThe Bachelorette

In what's apparently the tabloid's second ill-informed story of the week, the New York Post reports that Bachelorette Clare Crawley strolled through her hometown of Sacramento, CA wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring. However, Clare claimed yesterday on Instagram that the rather boring bauble is "a commitment to myself first and foremost, to embody self-love." Sure, if you think all that merits is a plain band with some smallish stones.

Anyway, in other, even less compelling news, Women's Health lets us in on the important fact that Clare hikes, rock climbs, and kayaks to condition her mind and body. She does all that "in nature" because her lease won't permit it in her dining room. She also reported in another compelling post that there's not a single thing that makes her feel more "alive+happy than when I am immersed in nature!" Except possibly when she's on yet another episode of a reality TV franchise.

Yet, as we delve deeper into the life of Season 16's Bachelorette, we still haven't learned why the "i" is missing from her first name. Fortunately, there are still several weeks remaining to cover important ground like that, as well as why none of the Bachelors holds a job anyone has ever heard of before.

Let's hope this episode helps us to explore the deeper Clare, at least until she leaves the show, when we'll have to stat learning details about Tayshia. At least that's unlikely to be very different material. More importantly,Vanna White has on a floral print dress tonight.

Clare opens the show by repeating that Dale is her Mr. Right. The other guys are understandably pissed at this lack of opportunity to make out with her. Yet the next morning, she wonders how right she was. The guys start drinking to prepare. Chris reminds them about how much time they had to spend in quarantine, then drops off the first group date card. They wander off, following a trail of hearts painted on the sidewalk because the show is more predictable, and less entertaining, than a Cosentyx ad.

On this date, they'll get to know Clare better by speaking to her heart in front of the crowd. It's embarrassing, mostly because none of them have complete thoughts to express. Nevertheless, while she's impressed with the first few semi-coherent dolts, she's  most excited to hear from Dale. It turns out he's no Lord Byron, but she's moved, possibly because she's no Mary Chaworth.

Now ensues the official touching and feeling session. The other guys note how she relates to Dale with great enthusiasm for this exercise. Good thing for the rest of the crowd that a stripping dodgeball game is scheduled next. How do the producers come up with these brilliant concepts.

Claire arrives at the after-party to hand out the evening's rose. At the moment, she's still all about Dale, but she heartily congratulates all the also-rans. There follows an odd moment of awkwardness, during which no one has anything to say, even something vacuous. Finally, Clare goes off to talk privately with Bennett. She wants to hear about his inanities, but she's remains displeased with how everyone fell silent just before, so she returns to the group to bitch at hem for causing her this momentary pre-scripted embarrassment.

"At the end of the day, I'm a woman," she asserts boldly, as if all women demand the rapt attention of groups of men presented as potential dates for them to choose among. The  men attempt to console her, which of course develops into a pointless spat between two of them. The writers must have received their patent on an automated system by now.

Clare reassures Jason that she will support him no matter what. He admits he used to be a selfish SOB, so he's grateful for her promise. She claims hears the pain in his voice, although that might just be the beginnings of coronavirus.

What they did tonight opened them up, she confirms. He can bring her anything and open up to her. If only all therapy was complete in 40 minutes of taping time. He accepts the rose. Together they burn the dress she wore at the finale of The Bachelor. I understand symbolism, but this is just weird and a waste of fabric.

The next morning, after a brief reminder to us that they are staying at La Quinta Resort and Club, the group gets ready to play dodgeball. Chris divides the men into two teams; the winner will spend the post-game time with Clare. She suggests they play a strip version, because this is all about love.

The blue team loses the first round and their shirts. They lose again and must remove their shorts. They march up to Clare and strip completely naked, which is okay because it wasn't on Zoom.

At the winning team gathering, Clare gloats that this team won, as if she even recognizes any of these guys yet. Eazy rubs her feet, which gives her chemistry and connection. Clare admits to another guy her feelings of being invisible in high school, which draws her in for a make-out session with him.

Meanwhile, the most bitter member of the losing dodgeball team gets dressed and heads over to join the winners with Clare. "I wanted to come in and really show balls," he explains to her, romancing her like the finest sonneteer. The other guys, enraged at this gall as reported by a witness, rise as one to head over and confront him. I looked it up: That's Plot Line #14, Scene #7.

Clare sends them away, though, as she wants to send the rule-breaker home on her own terms. Nobody puts Clare in a corner! Next she sits with Brendon, who never thought he would do anything like this before. She is flummoxed by his lack of knowledge about her before coming on the show. He intelligently points out that no one knows her before being on the show, but he's sinking rapidly. A churlish Clare asks to walk him out. She knows what she's looking for in a real relationship, despite the fact that this is a fake one. Brendon is not here for the right reason, or apparently for any reason at all.

After dispatching the poor slob, she gives the rose to Jason. This is disappointing to Eazy, who was relying on his foot-rubbing skills to carry the day.

Yosef is now feeling surly about the date he wasn't on. He wants to know what's going on in Clare's head, but she rejects his attempt to grab her first at the cocktail party. She takes Blake aside to confront him about last night. She reassures him that all is well again, and in fact, he gets another rose. He's back on cloud nine again, but when he returns to the group, they stare him down like he's Dale with a beard.

She and Dale blather on about providing each other with emotional support. It's like she's known him for years, and he agrees, probably because there's not much to either of them. Next week, their closeness is going to cause problems. She gets to announce that she's the oldest bachelorette because she didn't settle for men like "him." Either that, or she's counting on this stupid show to find her a life partner.

The Voice Recap Season 19 Blind Auditions 2 Live Blog (VIDEO)

10/20/2020 mj santilli RecapsThe Voice

The Voice Recap Season 19 Blind Auditions 2

Taryn Papa – Anyway by Martina McBride – 30 – Nashville TN – She learned piano before becoming a singer, playing with what amounted to a family band. Her beloved grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer during her high school years, and they were able to connect through music. That experience led her to love the storytelling aspects of country music. Currently, she fronts a band in Nashville. She plays at Blake's Ole Red club. It takes a minute, but Blake hits his button first…while blocking Kelly. She doesn't note it right away. Gwen turns next. Taryn kind of loses her train of thought once chairs turn. She seems overwhelmed! But otherwise, she is a classic country belter. Taryn points out that Kelly is blocked. Blake denies it, natch. Gwen tries to woo Taryn after learning that the singer covered her songs in high school. But I have a feeling there isn't a contest here. Blake thinks there are no belters in country music right now coughgabbybarrettcoughcough. And, unsurprisingly, Taryn picks Blake – Blake, Kelly and Gwen turn, Blake blocks Kelly, Taryn picks Blake

Liam St. John – Sex & Candy by Marcy Playground – 29 – Spokane WA – His real name is Shannon. He changed it because it didn't feel "cool." His mom has been his biggest champion. He pursued sports first, including long jumping. He competed overseas, but didn't make the Olympics. At that point, he switched to music. He formed a band, and eventually opened up for bigger bands. I'm not going to lie. He came off kinda pretentious in his package. But he's got an interesting vocal tone. He seems a little nervous though. It takes a minute, but Blake turns, and then Gwen, which Blake is not happy about! He can't believe only 2 coaches turned for him. I'm not surprised.. That performance was a little shaky. John didn't connect with the song. Gwen calls his voice rich, and loved his rock growls. Blake brags that he can pronounce "Spokane," while Gwen cannot. Unbothered, Liam picks Gwen. She does a victory dance! – Blake and Gwen turn. Liam picks Gwen

Faye Moffett – Anyone by Demi Lovato – 35 – Tulsa OK – She's been kicking around Tulsa for several years, playing gigs. It's been tough since the pandemic hit. Her hardworking mom introduced her to music, and has been her biggest champion. At 10, she performed for Rosa Parks. She performs the Demi Lovato hit with only piano accompaniment, which exposes everything. Her tone and range are good, but she's pitchy. It's probably why nobody turns. Her husband watches over Zoom. John felt she didn't nail the runs. Gwen also compliments her voice, but wasn't feeling "that exact thing." Blake notes that her dominant vibrato needed to be calmed down. Kelly was looking for more emotion. – No Turns

Aaron Scott – Hemorrhage (In My Hands) by Fuel –  36 – Tomah WI – He's a rock singer who fronts a hometown band. His day job is teaching middle school. His first hand experience battling depression informs his specialty–teaching kids with emotional problems.  Music helped him a lot. He becomes emotional talking about his three little boys. He seems like an earnest guy, but is this the 90s or what? He's a solid rock singer, but his style and material are way dated. Blake and surprisingly, John, hit their buttons. If this dude isn't versatile, he won't make it far. Gwen didn't know the song! Shocking, to be honest. Even me, an old lady, knows that song. Blake impersonates Aaron's rock chops. It's almost mocking.. John notes that he turned first. Gwen jokes that 90s songs "trigger" her. I wonder why. Blake does his geography brag, before insisting that he loves rock. John and Blake turn. Aaron picks Blake

Madeline Consoer – Girl by Maren Morris – 24 – Eagle River WI – In her video package, Madeline shares how boring quarantining for two weeks can be (everybody had to quarantine and test per COVID-19 protocols).  She's a daddy's girl. But both her parents are "super-supportive." After spending spring break in Nashville, Madeline decided to move there. She misses her family a lot. As far as her performance is concerned, she has a very pure tone, with a hint of rasp. Nice. Her rendition is more rock than country, and I like it. Kelly turns, and blocks Blake. But he doesn't turn, nor does Gwen or John, which is surprising, actually. Ohh. Blake saw Kelly block him. That's why he didn't turn. Gwen watched Blake's maneuver and got distracted. In the end, Madeline admits she would have chosen Kelly anyway. "I can't hug you, because it's 2020 and everything is a trash can," jokes Kelly – Only Kelly turns. She attempted to block Blake

Cami Clune – Skinny Love by Birdy – 20 – Buffalo NY – She wants to work with Gwen and thinks John would also be a good fit because they both play piano. Music and art has been in her life since age 4, including theater and dance. At 15, daily headaches led to a diagnoses for a connective tissue disease. She had to quit dance. Singing filled the void. But if singing was her second love, it's not a loss. She's a terrific vocalist. Kelly turns immediately, and blocks Blake. Gwen and John turn next. Blake hits his button last. Oops. Blocked. I wonder if he knew it, and decided to go to get it out of the way, figuring he'd lose in any case.  Cami's tone is very pretty, her head voice is glorious. John calls her performance "mesmerizing." She reminds me a little of Maelyn Jarmon. Gwen sells hard. She can help Cami find her inner voice. Kelly notes her ethereal and angelic tone. Blake calls Kelly evil for blocking him.. But in the end, she picks John. Kelly realizes that she should have blocked John. "I'm an idiot!" she says. – 4 chair turn, Kelly blocks Blake, Cami chooses John

Parede Valente-Johnson – Crossroads by Cream –  28 – Eugene OR – Folks mess up his name, often. He works on a hemp farm with his cousin. They grow for textiles and medicines. He loves working on the family farm, but also loves music. He did musical theater in high school. Oh. The Voice is his first real gig as a musician. He's doing the southern rock thing. His voice is very growly, but not especially unique. He's another dated sounding singer. If Blake doesn't turn, no one will. And he gets no turns. Kelly felt it stayed too linear. Blake and John felt the performance stayed on 10 and needed some variation.  – No Turns

Ryan Gallagher – The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli & Celine Dion – 31 – Ada Mi – It's another opera singer, but not nearly as interesting as John from the premier. He sings "They Prayer" in Italian, and Kelly begins to lose it. It takes a bit, but Kelly hits her button. She's melting. Blake turns, probably just to mess with her. "That's what I've been wanting, an Opry singer!" Oh gosh. Kelly calls his voice "magical." He's been performing classical and standards as a paid singer, all over the world. His mom has multiple sclerosis. The pandemic has been scary. Blake claims Ryan would be the third opera singer on her team. Well. two. Blake entices him to "shock" people and choose him. Kelly swears she has no opera singers on her team. Erm. Except for John the counter-tenor? Ryan picks Kelly. We needed a commercial break for that bit of non-suspense? Blake admits that he really really enjoyed messing with Kelly – Kelly and Blake turn Ryan chooses Kelly

Chloe Hogan – What the World Needs Now is Love by Jackie DeShannon – 20 – Orlando FL – She's been singing and playing piano since age 9. She did an urban showcase, singing her original songs, in front of 3,000 people. Her late grandfather was musical, but his voice box was removed before she was born. Gwen hits her button right away. Chloe adds her own spin to the classic song, with some very interesting phrasing.. Nice runs, not overdone. She's a little…quiet? She needs to hit more big notes to get the turns. She lives in Nashville now. Kelly said some pitch things kept her from turning. Blake predicts Gwen will assign Anita Baker songs to her. Gwen is shocked that she's only 20. Gwen wants to help bring "more of you out."- Only Gwen turns

Kiari Mhoon – Wanted by Hunter Hayes – 26 – Fayetteville NC – He's a sergeant in the army. He calls being in the army being part of the world's biggest team. He danced as a kid to deal with stress. He was talked into singing. Once he did, he was hooked. His family raised him on very little money. He joined the army to help them. Oh, he's gay, and was totally accepted once he joined the service. He's a vocalist in the army chorus. His husband is also in the army. His performance is edited down. I think he's being highlighted for his backstory. This performance is super hyper. Also, not a great song choice. Kelly contemplates turning, but she does not. Blake felt the performance was too "all over the map." John liked only parts of the song. Gwen calls him a diamond in the rough. Kelly felt his emotion, but felt that it needed to be tamed – No turns

Sid Kingsley – Don't Think Twice, It's Alright by Bob Dylan – 37 – Richmond VA – He grew up in a small town, Branchville. Music was his friend, it gave him calm and peace. He loathes flying, so he took a train to Los Angeles. A chubby kid, he played saxophone. His mom wants him to pick Blake. I've never heard this song played on the piano. Oh. It's a very bluesy arrangement. I wasn't expecting so much soul. He reminds me a bit of Gregg Allman. He's very good. Blake, John and Gwen turn. I'm a little surprised Kelly didn't hit her button. John heard power, soul and clarity. Gwen calls his strength and confidence "shocking." Kelly was waiting for more ache and vulnerability. Blake loves his cool laid back confidence. John can help him show more "tenderness." Mom appears on screen at Blake's request. "Do not disappoint your mother!" he says. But Sid has his own mind. He picks John – John, Gwen and Blake turn – Sid picks John.
