Bachelor Winter Games: Luke Pell on that Stassi Yaramchuk controversy
Thursday night's Bachelor Winter Games finale contained many shocking moments, but none were more so than seeing just how ugly the situation with Luke Pell got. We're not sure a contestant's overall stock has fallen so fast in just a short period of time, largely because of his behavior.
So why did Luke more or less ghost Stassi after the finale to the point where she didn't have his phone number? Luke does apparently have an explanation for it now, and it's one that, for whatever reason, he did not have during the finale. Per People Magazine, it has to do with another relationship that he had before going on the show:
"I originally went on [Winter Games] after a breakup, a relationship I had last year that was a non-Bachelor relationship … I decided to go back on the show and see if that might work because that had worked in the past for me when I was on with JoJo [Fletcher]. I wanted to give it another shot.."
Luke later says in the interview that while on the show and afterwards he thought constantly about his ex and because of that, he got back together with her after the show. He claims that he's grateful to have gone through all of this because it made his relationship with the ex in question (Holly Allen) all the stronger. He still apparently stands by the fact that he had more conversations with Stassi than what she claimed in the finale, but it doesn't really matter. The question that we wonder is this: If this is what happened with him, why not just say that on the finale? It may all be true but it just felt as though the entire night could've gone a little bit better for Luke if he'd just went up on stage and talked about his relationship now. Maybe he'd still be accused of using the series for fame but nothing could be worse than the precise situation that he's in now. This is a man who lost thousands of Instagram followers overnight and with that, he's in damage control. He's trying to make a career as a musician and with that, needs supporters to come to his shows. Some of his biggest supporters by and large are people who first saw him on The Bachelor.
What do you think about some of Luke's comments now, and do you still dislike him as much as you did after the finale? Share below!
