And it's a little different than saying someones nose looks weird, or those eyeglasses just don't suit them. Roseanne's comments were outright racist and whatever being against Muslims is. Outright, no question about it. She believes conspiracy theories. And likely felt as though she could get away with the intent of the tweet since one of her biggest admirers does, too. Thankfully, ABC did the right thing. And hopefully this is the start of not accepting outright racism.
I'm in a group local to Milwaukee, Wisconsin - and I suspect I'm one of the few white people in it. I'm certainly the only white person who posts and comments, that I've seen, for the last 6 months at least. Nearly all others are black. One of the other group members, who is black, posted today that look, we are ALL racist a little. She said black people can be worst racists than white people. But the thing is - you keep it to yourself, or you share your views that aren't humanly correct with only those who share those same views. Comparing someone to an ape, when the person is black? No. Why not suggest they would have made a good slave? That is just as unacceptable. We are all capable of keeping thoughts to ourselves. All of us. And we all do it. Because there are just not things you say. You wouldn't go to a store, see a 600 pound woman, and ask why she is so fat, woudl you? No. But you wonder it, most likely. But you keep it to yourself, or you ask that question to a person you are close with.
Racism seems to be more common in the past 1 1/2 years. It's more acceptable to be racist or express racist vies in public. Hopefully after today, that will change to where it's NOT acceptable, and we quit going backwards in history on that issue.

First comedy show I watched every episode in quite some time. Too bad she had to open her big mouth. Let's face it, there's usually been a time when anyone will pick on someone's looks, but to do it publically is just stupid. Her mind must be going. I don't condone what she did, it's just too bad because a lot of people liked her show. I wonder why she had a beef with that lady to even bother tweeting something about her.... I never even heard of this lady. I dunno, people just do stupid things sometimes and then regret it. My husband and I were talking about it and not 1/2 hour later he was commenting on someone's looks in a TV Commercial and I joked to him that he'd be fired for that! It doesn't matter if black or white, shouldn't publically call someone on their looks... but if she had said that about a white person, would it have been the same result? You just can't go around using the ape/monkey comment about people.

Frasier and Cheers were made by CBS, yet NBC aired them both. Same with Wings. All 3 were CBS productions that aired on NBC. But....none of them had the PR problem that Roseanne currently has. But don't forget, she did something pretty awful back in the day, with thin singing of the national anthem, and grabbing her croch. And everyone got past that. So this isn't a death knell for her completely.

It would be tough for somebody else to pick it up.
1. How many of the cast would come back? One cast member already left before they cancelled it.
2. The show is made by ABC itself which would make it tougher to show to another network and i doubt abc would even want to.

I would hope not. And I hope another network doesn't pick the show up either.

Roseanne lost a lot of peoples jobs by doing that . Why say that ?
Well I doubt they will consider her for any show in the future !

It definitely was. It's too bad because i liked the show itself despite her..but that was reprehensible.
