Survivor: David vs. Goliath is going to officially arrive on CBS on Wednesday night, and with that, there is certainly quite a bit to be excited for! This is a really fun group of people from a lot of different backgrounds, and the premise is solid and easily-digestible enough that this should appeal to casual viewers / superfans alike.
Below, we're continuing our annual tradition and offering up some of our first predictions for the season! (Note: We're usually completely off with these, but they're fun to do nonetheless.)
Survivor Video – We have our predictions in the video below and will be bringing you
Survivor videos all season long (a few times a week), so be sure to

First person voted out – Elizabeth Olson, David tribe. It was hard to pick any one person, since this season doesn't feel like it has many surefire early boots. She's just on a tribe where it feels like she is someone who will stand out, and while she will probably work hard around camp, we just see her almost being someone who just doesn't get the necessary social bonds in the early going.
First person voted out from the Goliath tribe – Mike White. We hate to say this, given that we loved Mike on The Amazing Race and admire his talent as a writer. Alas, we just don't envision many scenarios where this tribe has an incentive to keep him since he's not the most physically-fit person out there, he's already a known name, and the ghost of David Wright may haunt these players and they could view him as a threat. The one thing going for Mike is that we wouldn't be shocked if the Goliath tribe lasts a few episodes without needing to vote someone out.
Personal favorite entering the game – Carl Boudreaux. He's just an interesting guy, a family man and self-described "black cowboy" from Texas who feels very salt-of-the-earth. We really like this sort of character in Survivor. He's not going to be a strategic force but we could see him being a great narrator and storyteller. He just feels real and organic and it feels like he could make for compelling television, even if he's in conflict with other people.
Our winner prediction – Alison Raybould. She has a lot going for her that we tend to like in Survivor winner picks, especially when it comes to being able to relate to a lot of different people. She's not the youngest person this season, but she's certainly not the oldest. She also seems to know the game without being an obvious superfan and while she's in good shape, she's not a clear challenge threat. She talks about making moves and wanting to blindside people, so there's an eagerness here to play and try to do some stuff in the game. We think she has all of the tools, but it's really going to come down to execution.
