'Hell's Kitchen: All-Stars' Recap: Ah, Shucks - The Chefs Cook for Their Lives

Another All-Star bites the dust, but Chef Ramsay and Hell's Kitchen must carry on in pursuit of a new franchise winner. What antics will the contestants find themselves in this time around? Perhaps spelling out ingredients with body paint? Or cooking by using only their feet? Whatever the chefs will be up to, rest assured it will be done with a side of ridiculousness.

As the chefs are sent back to the dorms, Robyn tries to get back on her team's good graces after announcing that she wants back on the Red Team. Giovanni suggests she keep those feelings to herself because the men welcomed her with open arms. Wonder if this will come back to bite her in the butt.

Beef wellington, salmon, halibut, rack of lamb, duck breast, and pork chop. These are the dishes, from the Hell's Kitchen menu, that Ramsay unveils one by one the next morning.

Challenge: Know Your Menu

These are veterans of the Hell's Kitchen dining service, so they should be able to flawlessly execute these menu staples. This would be too easy, though. One by one, Ramsay begins announcing for a member of each team to leave the kitchens.

Just as things get cooking, Ramsay tells everyone to select one chef from each team to kick out of the kitchens. Red Team kicks Barbie out while Van leaves the Blue Team or does he? Milly suggests Robyn leaves, but against his wishes, she stays put. Ramsay's not done yet! One more person has to go. Easy for the Blue Kitchen, Robyn is out. Red Team looks to make a horrible decision by letting Dana go. Again, Ramsay calls for someone to leave! Next for Red is Elise, Blue kicks Milly. From here, Manda flees from the Red Kitchen while Gio follows suit for Blue. Last woman and man standing? Michelle for Red, meaning Jennifer has left, and Nick for Blue, as Benjamin joins the rest of his team behind the counter. With just under three minutes remaining, all hands on deck! Everyone runs back into the kitchens, Manda slips but recovers and hurriedly tries to correct any mistakes made.

Entrees are presented to Ramsay and right off the bat he discovers that the Red Team's pork chops are not fully cooked. This was Dana's job, yet she left in the second round of kick-outs and handed the dish to her teammates. Blue takes the pork chop point. Beef wellingtons earn points on both sides as does the halibut and duck breast dishes. Rack of lamb fails to impress on either side thanks to Elise and Nick. Salmon will be the deciding factor. Unfortunately, Jennifer cooked the salmon perfectly, but overcooked the complimentary shrimp.

Result: Blue Team wins!

The men, and Robyn, enjoy a day of rock climbing and a meal at Bourbon Steak with sous chefs Christina and Jockey. Well, Milly sort of just attempts to rock climb and shows way too much of his boxers. Meanwhile, the women join Marino to clean up by polishing, vacuuming, ironing and... shining shoes? While doing so, Michelle and Elise start bickering. It just sounds like whining which suddenly ends in a truce and serves no true purpose but to annoy everyone. (I knew this article was in need of a little something.)

Second Challenge: Cook For Your Life

Back to work! Ramsay gathers everyone around in the Blue Kitchen to watch as he prepares tagliatelle oysters. Stakes are high. Half of each team will have 30 minutes to cook for their lives. Nick and Michelle give the names of those on their teams who will cook. Robyn (shocker), Gio and Milly will fight for the Blue Team and Barbie, Manda and Elise (saw that one coming!) will play for the Red Team.

So let's check in. Milly is overconfident, which is usually the kiss of death. Barbie is the queen of shucking oysters, who knew? Robyn's hands wont stop shaking. Elise looks to be a bit nervous and is brought to tears once the chefs await their results. Why? I really am not sure.
Manda passes with flying colors. Milly presents a stunning dish, but unfortunately forgets one of the six required. Thankfully, his dish is still better than Manda's and he sprints down the hall to the dorms. Barbie presents a bit too much pasta, giving Manda good news. She joins Milly in the dorms. Two of Robyn's oysters look like a murder scene. Barbie is given safe passage back to the dorms. Elise is up. Her oysters are too salty, but still they top Robyn's murder scene. She makes her way back into the dorms and announces "It's on now, baby!" (Insert eye roll here.) Gio is last to showcase his oysters. A beautiful presentation, but he was light on the sauce and heavy on the pasta. So who goes home?

Going home tonight is... Giovanni.

Robyn fails to successfully open oysters on an oyster challenge and she gets to stay. That makes total sense. (Not at all.) What do you think of Ramsay's decision? Did the right person get sent home? Leave your comments below.
