So You Think You Can Dance season 14 is down to just seven contestants. I agree with Nigel Lythgoe -- we need a return to a full top 20! 

Last time we said farewell to sassy popper Dassy Lee, who was on Team Fik-Shun. This season's talent is phenomenal, and I hate to see anyone go. 

Get ready, dance fans. This is the So You Think You Can Dance live blog!

We start off with a fun and retro Broadway group routine from the competitors and All-Stars, choreographed by Warren Carlyle. 

Welcome our Judges -- Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Murphy, and Nigel Lythgoe. The dancers are working overtime as each will perform three times. Starting tonight, viewer votes will decide who moves on to the So You Think You Can Dance finale.  Next week is a double elimination. Yikes! 

Lex and All-Star Gaby

Hip-Hop choreographed by Luther Brown

Lex is excited to tackle hip-hop and it shows in this old-school routine. The duo garners a standing ovation from all three judges. Mary loves Lex's isolations and energy. Nigel tells Lex that he has made him proud. 

Solo: Taylor

The competitors are sharing a bit about their dancing pasts. Taylor started dancing at the age of four and graced the stage as a rubber ducky. Her solo is graceful and emotional. 

Logan and All-Star Allison

African Jazz- choreographed by Sean Cheesman

This routine is about a secret tribe that only ventures out at night. Allison and Logan bring the energy to this animalistic routine. They also earn a standing ovation. Nigel praises the performance, and says that Logan "hits the ball out of the park every week," a nod to Logan giving up baseball for dance. And all Vanessa can say is "Wow" about 10 times. Mary puts them on the hot tamale train.

Solo: Mark

Mark reveals that he was a mischievous child, and his first dance performance happened when he was in the sixth grade. Mark's solo is fresh, fun, and overflowing with energy. 

Kaylee with All-Star Cyrus

Contemporary choreographed by Tyce Diorio

This number is about a couple who loses everything. Kaylee shines in this gut-wrenching piece. Vanessa compliments Kaylee's performance and calls it "stupendous." Mary praises how powerful and fierce Kaylee is. Nigel calls it their best performance. 

Solo: Koine

Koine fell in love with dance, and because she didn't yet speak English, she would copy her friends during dance class to learn the moves. Her solo is powerful and full of charisma. 

Kiki with All-Star Jenna

Broadway choreographed by Warren Carlyle

This routine features canes as props, and I love the simplicity of the piece. Kudos to Kiki and Jenna for repeatedly catching canes that are thrown to them off-stage. This incredible piece gets a standing ovation, and deservedly so. Cat and Jenna even take a victory lap around the stage. Mary is amazed that they could catch the canes, coming from different people and different directions. Nigel calls Kiki a "brilliant all around dancer."

Solo: Logan

Logan's stage debut was in a hip-hop dance at the age of seven. Most of Logan's solo comprised of head spins, which I must confess surprised me. 

Koine with All-Star Marko

Jive choreographed by Dmitry Chaplin

Marko portrays a nerd who dances with a popular girl. It is a fun routine but it feels like there is a lack of connection between this duo, but apparently it is just me as they receive a standing ovation from the judges. Vanessa praises Koine's versatility, and puts them on her hot tamale train. Mary loves the side by side dancing. Koine is very emotional and doesn't want this experience to end. 

Solo: Kaylee

Kaylee started dancing at eight years of age. Her first performance had her tapping in a yellow sundress with an umbrella.  Her solo shows plenty of personality, but isn't very energetic.

Group Dance- The All-Stars

This Brian Friedman routine is very stylized and is partially in black and white. It is not really my cup of tea. 

Taylor with All-Star Robert

Contemporary choreographed by Mandy Moore

This number is sweet and romantic, and very sensual. Once again, the judges are on their feet. Mary is emotional and tells Taylor that she touched her soul. Nigel wants Taylor to find even more emotion and bring it out, as her technique is already incredible. 

Solo: Lex

Lex was an energetic child, and he began taking dance classes at the age of seven. His first performance was a hip-hop routine that he would rather forget. Lex's solo has wonderful turns and spins.

Mark with All-Star Comfort

Hip-Hop choreographed by Misha Gabriel

Mark and Comfort portray a master and student ninja during a practice fight. I liked this hard-hitting hip-hop number, but it fell a bit short of my expectations. Mary praises their synchronization. Nigel tells the duo that they did a "good" job. 

Solo: Kiki

"Daddy Kiki," as he is known on Twitter, first hit the stage at the age of four. His solo is fast, furious, and fun
