[Reality_And_Drama_TV_Shows] 'Bachelor in Paradise' Recap: Does Dean Finally Make His Choice?

Well that was interesting. Fred and Sweaty shirt ( er I mean Blake) were eliminated. Ben just up and left and since Kristen couldn't give her rose to anyone she also left. At least Dean made his choice so now we will see if it sticks. The TWINS have arrived ( grrr)

'Bachelor in Paradise' Recap: Does Dean Finally Make His Choice?

It's truly a shame that Bachelor in Paradise is beginning to wind down its season. It's not because this season has been great. In fact, it's been the exact opposite. Yet, very recently, the show was starting to turn around and revert back to the fun, weird, little summer spin-off it's always been. The show was moving away from the depressing talks of broken romance and sex scandals.

This episode, which launches Bachelor in Paradise's penultimate week, is a mixed bag, however. Oppressive tears and harmless trashy fun are mixed together, but the former does, thankfully, outweigh the latter.

Hot Mess Express

Dominique, who you can be forgiven for completely forgetting, opens the episode by bringing us back into the love triangle mess of Danielle, Kristina and Dean. Dean learns that Kristina saw Danielle and himself in the pool. This finally prompts Dean to explain himself to the audience ... and it's wildly disappointing. Dean's at least decent enough to realize that he's being an enormous tool bag, but he doesn't give any decent reasons for ping-ponging between the girls besides confusion. Dean doesn't know what he feels for either girl. Lame!

Truthfully, it seems that Dean is just a lot more immature than he appeared in Rachel's season. Dean likely got caught up in his insane popularity and forgot to take other people's emotions into account while doing it. He never wanted a relationship with Kristina, but he never stopped it happening either.

This doesn't excuse his behavior, but it at least makes Dean seem less like a monster. Kristina finally starts to realize it too. She gives him a piece of her mind and seems to break up with him for the final time ... maybe. (Spoiler alert: she doesn't.)

The Curious Case of Jack Stone

The Dean and Kristina drama bleeds over to the new arrival. It's one half of the worst Bachelorette feud in history: Blake E. from Rachel's season. If you forgot Blake, he will remind you at every turn why he made an impression. He's the guy who hated Lucas, otherwise known as Whaboom. While Lucas is nowhere to be seen, Blake continues to be unable to shut up about how much he hated the guy. Some things never change.

It's because of Blake's constant Lucas talk and the fact that he's sweating enough to make Josh Murray jealous that no girl wants a date with him. It would've seemed impossible, but Bachelor in Paradise has found a low that these girls won't stoop to for a date. They'll fight over a self-proclaimed tickle monster and a man with a doll of himself but not Blake E. Blake goes after Kristina, but she turns him down because she "has a lot to think about" -- aka "You're gross and I need to yell at Dean some more."

The casting of Blake truly is one of Bachelor in Paradise's weirdest decisions this season because he's not even remotely funny, let alone interesting. Bachelor in Paradise partly understands how much of a dud he is, thankfully, because joining Blake at the resort is Fred, also from Rachel's season. While Fred balances out Blake being an enormous douchebag, he's not exactly a wealth of personality. Fred was distinctive because he went to camp with Rachel, and she couldn't see him outside of being a little kid. There's nothing else to him.

Fred takes Dominique out on a date, while Blake must settle for Christen. It's as miserable as can be and not just because Christen's contact pops out halfway through it all. The real action, in a very literal sense, is going on at the resort.

Christen evidently told the girls that Jack Stone, possibly serial killer esquire, was a terrible kisser. They decide to test this for themselves, so they all stick their tongues down Jack's throat. (The verdict: he's an excellent kisser.) To be painfully obvious, Jack Stone is getting more kisses than Ben Z., a man who literally looks like Superman.

Ken and Barbie Go on a Date

Even though Jack Stone has been incredibly busy, he still wants an official date. Bachelor in Paradise has other plans. Jack Stone will remain desperate, lonely and awkward in their eyes. A date card arrives, but it's for Robby, who's already been on a big date with Raven. Since Robby has been successful pursuing Amanda -- he even brought out glow sticks for her -- he takes Amanda out on the date.

Amanda and Robby have both been more likable on Bachelor in Paradise than they were during their previous times in Bachelor Nation. Neither are likable nor quite interesting. They're perfectly matched in their boringness, but they're not fun to watch in any circumstance. It doesn't help that their date feels identical to the one that Wells and Ashley I. went on in season 3.

The Express Pulls into the Station

Chris Harrison calls every episode ending a shocker, but this one truly finishes in a surprise. For once, things actually conclude on a real-life rose ceremony!

However, as is becoming tradition on Bachelor in Paradise, the night of the ceremony opens with at least one cast member taking themselves out of the running. Ben Z. announces something that was obvious to us all. There's no one here for him, and he's going to go home to his one true love: his dog. It's hard to blame him either. I'd rather spend time with Ben's dog, Zeus, than most of the people left this season.

Case in point: right before the rose ceremony begins, Bachelor in Paradise returns to the drama factory that is Kristina, Dean and D-Lo. D-Lo offers Dean an ultimatum -- she asks Dean if Kristina and herself gave him a rose, who would he choose. Dean, probably because she's right in front of him, picks Danielle. The love triangle is finally over, Dean has made a choice and he even tells Kristina that he's picking D-Lo. It would seem like the story's over, but nope. All hell breaks loose.

Although Dean has made it very clear, for a very long time, that he's not that into Kristina, and she herself has proclaimed to being done with him a thousand times, this news hits her like a Mack truck. Kristina starts crying and blaming everyone, including Danielle. When Raven tries to make Kristina see reason, the Russian terror turns on the Southern Belle. It all culminates with Kristina, melodramatically and unnecessarily, removing herself from the show at the rose ceremony and not giving out her rose.

Kristina was almost certainly screwed over by Dean. Dean screwed up big time and made himself look like a moron in the process. Ultimately, Kristina's departure doesn't stir any more emotions besides relief. Kristina's time on Paradise was a trainwreck -- and an incredibly depressing one at that -- after the production break. Now it's mercifully over.

Were you sad to see Kristina go? Were you relieved? Should she have given out her rose to someone? Do you think Ben Z. should have stuck around longer? Does Jack Stone look like a good kisser? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
