Tonight on
The World's Best , longtime fans of
America's Got Talent fans got to see a familiar face in William Close. The former finalist on that show was known for his innovative instrument the Earth Harp, which he used to create unique performances you've never heard before.
Tonight, he came on the CBS show with his fantastic instrument in order to show more of precisely what he can do. We get why The World's Best would want — he's wholly unique and we think that he is the wort of person who sounds even more extraordinary live than he does when you watch him on TV. His instrument basically fills the entire room — he has this unique ability to bring you an immersive musical experience that you haven't quite seen before.
Do we think that we're going to be seeing a thousand or so earth harps showing up in the future? Hardly, but we certainly think that there is a place for an instrument like this at orchestras and other places that have the proper studio alignment for something like this. It's no surprise that the judges would like this, and we certainly like just how involved Faith Hill got in the performance! She went onstage at the conclusion of it and had a chance to try out the Earth Harp for herself.
Did he get through to the next round? As much as we like the Earth Harp on the show, we'll admit that this is the thing that matters more than anything else — you do need the approval of the judges and the Wall of the World, and we've seen that some of them over the past few episodes have not been all that easy to please.
As it turns out, William made it through! The Wall of the World especially seemed to like him.
