This has actually been addressed. Tyler did not break the rules. The rules were that nothing except your feet could touch the disc, meaning they couldn't sit. His feet came off, leaving him only hanging into the rope and nothing touching the disc for a moment. That, in no way would ever be considered to be an advantage. CBS chose to put it on the show. Since it wasn't a live competition, and it was obvious his feet came off, if it were against the rules then CBS would have either disqualified Tyler or not shown us.
