One of the stranger things about
Big Brother 20 as a whole is that the showmances, at least save for Bayleigh and Swaggy C, are mostly of the semi-secret variety. Haleigh and Faysal haven't confirmed much of anything publicly, which gives you such memorable moments as Brett asking Haleigh if she's in a showmance with him last night. She denied it, but what she doesn't realize that everyone is pretty well aware of what's going on. It's a secret that isn't a secret at all.
The situation with Brett in the game is a weird one just because he's often hard to read. Take, for example, his flirting with Haleigh. Does he do it because he's genuinely interested, it's just a natural part of his personality, or he has recognized that this is a way to gloriously needle Fessy? Maybe it's all of them. What's interesting is that despite causing relationship drama, he also spent part of last night trying to make Sam feel better … remember here that Sam has already admitted to having a crush on him.
Last night, Angela even said out loud that Brett should leave in Fessy's goodbye message that he will take care of Haleigh while he's gone … which is another reminder that Zingbot's description of Angela is for the most part accurate.
Most of last night featured strange shenanigans more so than strategy, including Sam spending a full day preparing to make a pound cake only for Pop to give cinnamon rolls to everyone in the house. (Are they just trying to make her mad?) You also had Tyler / Angela cuddling (which we're still fairly dismissive of the idea that this is anything serious) and then also JC having a conversation with Angela about how he trusts her, but also recognizes that there's going to be a time when they have to battle each other on the block.
