I live in Florida but somewhat up north from there. My cousins just moved to Parkland but I know they weren't at that school. No matter where it was....when your son tells you that as far back as when he was in elementary School he's been worried about this...that's just so wrong.

A gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school in Parkland, Fla., on Wednesday, officials there said. According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, there were multiple fatalities and at least 14 people were injured. The shooting suspect, a former student, was taken into custody in nearby Coral Springs. Follow below for the latest updates.

What we know
• A shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., 50 miles north of Miami. It has an enrollment of approximately 3,000.

• At least 15 people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured, according to ABC News.

• CNN reports that an "AR-15-style weapon" was recovered at the scene.

• The suspected shooter, identified as Nicolas Cruz, was taken into custody in nearby Coral Springs. According to officials, Cruz was a former student at the school.

Today we experiencing the worst of humanity as an unspeakable tragedy has hit our @browardschools family at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS. There has been a shooting on campus with injuries and fatalities. We are working with law enforcement as we pray for our babies and families.
