'The Voice' Results: Who Goes Home from the Top 12?

This is The Voice! We have entered the live shows, everyone! The Top 12 have arrived and came out of the gate swinging. Coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson cheered their own artists and opposing competition on with constructive criticism, standing ovations and a few shoes thrown along the way. From Brooke Simpson's powerful opener to Janice Freeman's show stopping wrap-up, and a few highs and lows in between, these live shows are off with a bang.

Alas, with live shows, as we all know, come eliminations and the Top 12 must downsize by one. Who did America decide deserves to stay and who will be going home? As history has it, this easily delivered bit of information will be left until the final minutes of the show. So to tide us over and fill in the hour, the ladies of Pitch Perfect 3 will be teaming up with the Top 12 for a fun mash-up.

The First Results

Host Carson Daly says there is little time to waste. We have live performances from the coaches, the Pitch Perfect 3 collaboration video and, of course, results!

Right off the bat, we have some saves. From Team Adam, Addison Agen and Team Jennifer's Noah Mac both go on to see another day. Also safe, from Team Blake, is Chloe Kohanski!

Jennifer Hudson and J-Hud Productions ("Let It Be")

How exciting for the contestants to be able to perform for a live audience alongside their coach! The blend of soulful voices are so well married too. Toss in a pretty cool guitar solo and I would vote for all of them to stick around. Also, I'd like to point out that Noah's outfit resembles that of Elvis Presley on "Jailhouse Rock."

Back to the results! Brooke Simpson of Team Miley is safe! She runs off to hug her coach, who looks like a giant ribbon in her pink poofy dress. Next on the safe list is Team Blake's Keisha Renee!

Adam Levine and Maroon 5 ("What Lovers Do")

The award-winning band graces the stage with their latest hit. Can Maroon 5 do any wrong? I love this song. It would have been great to see SZA come out and join them, but this definitely satisfies. Adam doesn't even have to do much. He stands there and holds the microphone stand and is still one of the hottest rock stars doing it today. Take note, contestants!

The Pitch Perfect 3 Cast and Top 12 Music Video ("Freedom/When I'm Gone")

Actress and producer of Pitch Perfect 3, Elizabeth Banks now joins Carson to introduce the Top 12/Bellas music video of a mash-up of the late, great George Michael's "Freedom" and Anna Kendrick's "When I'm Gone." So many times, these collaborations happen where all of the contestants of a talent show come together and sound like a train wreck. Solo artists all have their own individual sounds, but this sounds like a grand choir with a fun mix to hype up the upcoming movie.

More results! Shi'Ann Jones of Team Jennifer will continue in the competition. America has also saved Janice Freeman of Team Miley.

Carson announces The Voice Snapchat winner Sharday, who stands with coaches Miley and Adam. Congratulations to her!

Blake Shelton and Team Blake ("If It Will, It Will")

I'll be honest. I'm caught up just watching and listening to this performance, almost forgetting to type to you guys! Another great blend of voices with this Hank Williams, Jr. song. Blake knows how to bring the fun, truly.

The final five contestants return to the stage for their results. Three will stay and two will sing for that last spot in the Top 11. Davon Flemming from Team Jennifer will be sticking around. Thanks to America, Team Miley's Ashland Craft is also safe. Lastly, Red Marlow of Team Blake joins the others safe contestants. This means Adam Cunningham and Jon Mero, both from Team Adam, will be singing for their lives.

Adam Cunningham ("Fortunate Son") -- Team Adam

Adam C. comes out ready to take this win. Guitar in hand, feather in hat, he sings "Fortunate Son." One has to believe he's telling America it won't be his name called to be going home. This performance is definitely worth a save. Honestly, this is very tough. Neither he nor Jon deserves bottom spots.

Jon Mero ("I Want You Back") -- Team Adam

Jon has room to dance for this one, and it's a good thing because he needs to pull out all the stops. He pleads for America to keep him around, skipping around the stage, commanding attention and, for the most part, staying in key. As much as I like him, though, this isn't as great a performance as what we've just seen from Adam C. It's a bit lackluster.

Adam Levine is understandably upset that both contestants in the bottom are from his team, but he is trying to be as fair as possible. Not choosing favorites, he says they are both amazing. As Adam C. joins Jon on the stage, there are now five minutes for all of America to tweet and help save one of these talented guys. Who will go home?

The votes are so close, but someone has to go home. Adam L. will speak on the music itself since we all know both artists are great in their own right. The moment of truth is upon us.

Going home tonight is ... Jon Mero.

Adam Cunningham completes the Top 11.

Do you agree with the results? Should someone else have taken either Adam C. or Jon's spot in the bottom two? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
