I have never seen an advantage do that.

Last time on Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, the Yawa Tribe (red buff "Hustlers") once again attended tribal council, where Patrick Bolton was sent home in a fog of disbelief and hurt feelings. Season 35 certainly isn't skimpy on the blindsides.

But, for the contestants, everything is about to change, because Jeff Probst is going to tell the tribes to drop their buffs. Just like that, the game starts anew!

A Brand New Buff

This episode of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, "I Don't Like Having Snakes Around," starts with a surprise for the castaways. It is the tribal shuffle!

The new Levu tribe (blue buff) is Alan and Ashley from the Heroes, Joe and Desi from the Healers, and Hustler Devon. Desi is pleased with the physical strength of her new tribe.

The new Soko tribe (yellow buff) is made up of Hustlers Ryan and Ali, Heroes Chrissy and J.P, and lone Healer Roark. Roark notes that she is excited, but also nervous, about getting to know her new tribe. I am sad that the beautiful bromance of Ryan and Devon has been interrupted.

The new Yawa tribe (red buff) consists of Healers Dr. Mike, Cole, and Jessica. They are joined by Hustler Lauren and Hero Ben. Ben admits that things could get dicey for himself and Lauren. It is a big sigh of relief that Jessica and Cole both score red buffs, so they can continue to chastely giggle and kiss each other on the cheek. Love is in the air!

Reward Challenge

For this challenge, three tribe members, who are attached to a braided rope, will work to untangle it. Once they have, they will use it to hook a sled and pull it to them. The final two tribe members will use the blocks on the sled to assemble a stand-up puzzle. The reward is worth it -- peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the winning tribe, with extra jelly, peanut butter, and bread to use at camp. Each player will also win their very own bag of potato chips. (What -- no chocolate? Come on, Jeff!) It is going to be a tough challenge since many of the players do not know each other at all.

Soko is the first tribe to untangle their rope and start trying to hook their sled. Yawa comes from behind and captures their sled first. Alan, and the Levu tribe, are in last place as he desperately tries to hook the sled. It is a close race between Yawa and Soko, but Jessica and Dr. Mike clinch it for their new Yawa tribe.

Yawa Tribe

An enjoyable afternoon is spent by all as they gorge themselves on their reward. The tribe members introduce themselves, and Jessica finds an exciting surprise in her chip bag: a secret advantage! The advantage gives Jessica the ability to prevent one tribe member from voting at the upcoming tribal council. The note will be sent anonymously to a tribe member, who will open it at tribal council. If Yawa does not go to tribal council, then the advantage must be sent anonymously to a person on the losing tribe.

Naturally, Jessica decides to tell Cole (who has a habit of revealing sensitive information) and Dr. Mike. Cole feels that Jessica trusts him because he shared the information about Joe's idol with her. He plans to use this same strategy to win over other tribe members. Cole immediately pulls Ben aside and tells him that Jessica has a secret advantage that will block someone's vote. After that, Cole stops by Lauren and continues to spread the good news. (I don't know, Cole. At this rate a very angry Jessica might block your vote.) Lauren isn't sure whether to believe Cole, but she is glad that she has the information at her disposal.

While Cole and Jessica frolic on the fishing raft, the rest of their tribe mates discuss how close the duo is, and how much they do not like it. Lauren tries to lure Dr. Mike over to her side by telling him that someone got an advantage in their potato chip bag. Mike goes out to tell Jessica that Lauren and Ben know about the advantage. Jessica is furious, and Cole tries to convince her that he did not tell Lauren because he had no reason to. Finally, Cole cracks and admits that he gave Ben the information. (Cole, I do not see any more kisses in your future!) Jessica is deeply hurt and starts second-guessing her decision to link up with Cole.

Soko Tribe

Ryan is thrilled that Chrissy is part of his new tribe, because he anonymously gave her his super idol to use at the first tribal council. But is that enough to solidify an alliance with Chrissy? Ryan wastes no time in telling her that he made sure that she would be not be going home at the first tribal council. Chrissy asks why he chose her, and Ryan explains that he felt good energy from her. She responds that she "felt very loved" when she received his gift. Chrissy promises that she will somehow return the favor.

Levu Tribe

As the new tribe members introduce themselves, Desi muses that voting Devon out would be the easy move, but he could also be valuable as a swing vote. Poor Ashley is devastated that she is still on a tribe with Alan, and his whole "power couple" campaign against her and J.P. is still a source of simmering resentment. She decides to push through her feelings and bet on Alan that they can work together with Devon to vote out a Healer. Meanwhile, Joe and Desi are trying to sway Devon to their side against Alan and Ashley. Joe tells Devon that the two Heroes have targeted him, and that Devon needs to stay strong with the Healers. Joe revels in his deceitfulness and willingness to do anything to further his game.

Immunity Challenge

This challenge is insane! The contestants will run out to a large and heavy crate of puzzle pieces, which they must maneuver through a table-style obstacle course, and then under a net. Players must then unlock another set of puzzle pieces, which they need to arrange in a puzzle so that intersecting pieces are the same color. What could possibly go wrong?
The first two tribes will win immunity, while the losers will have an informative discussion that evening with Jeff at tribal council.

Yawa takes the lead with the puzzle, and they win immunity. Levu and Soko are nipping at each other's heals, but Soko triumphs. The Levu tribe will slug it out at tribal council. And Jessica plans to help any Healers on the Levu Tribe.

Levu Tribe

Devon is obviously in a position of power, and Ashley talks to him with the hopes of convincing him to vote with the Heroes. Devon explains what Joe told him, and Ashley wastes no time in quelling Devon's fears. Devon now thinks that Joe "is a sketchy dude" and "a snake." Tell us how you really feel, Devon!

Joe still has his idol, and he needs to make sure that everyone votes for him, so he decides to be as obnoxious as possible and confront everyone. This causes Alan's blood to boil, and everyone is taken aback when Joe states that he is voting for Ashley. Joe then proceeds to list all the ways that Ashley is a weak player. Desi is horrified and becomes emotional because she feels like Joe just ruined her game.

When the others leave, Joe confides that he has an idol, but Desi thinks that everyone already suspects that. She wants Joe to play the idol on her. The rest of the tribe wonders if Joe has an idol, and who they should vote for. Just before tribal council, Devon finds a secret advantage in his bag that he cannot open until tribal council.

Tribal Council

The mood at tribal council is tense. Alan rehashes how Joe put Ashley's name out there. Alan tells Jeff that there have been rumors about an idol, and Alan plans on voting for either Desi or Joe. Devon admits that he is the swing vote, and he is going to vote for people that he can move forward with in the game. Devon opens his secret advantage, and is shocked to find out that it penalizes him rather than rewards him. Say goodbye to your vote, Devon!

The Vote

Just before the vote is read, Joe gives Jeff his immunity idol. Desi thinks that he is going to give it to her, but he decides to keep it. All the votes for Joe are excluded, and the fourth person voted out of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers is Alan. Joe takes great pleasure in taunting Ashley by telling her that he "read her face." She is shocked by the crazy turn of events.

Do you think that Joe should have kept his word to Desi? Would Alan have been voted out if an idol wasn't played? Are you surprised that no one voted for Devon? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
