First, it's annoying as check that these writers of these things sent to this email group choose, repeatedly, to highlight phrases or change the color of words or sentences. It's saying they reader, there is the only part you need to focus on, the only view in this article that actually matters in my opinion. It's annoying and distracting to me, and I have asked others, they feel the same way. But. Into the article itself, and not just the one paragraph the author has decided he or she wants readers to only focus on. Jane Fonda had every right to shut down the interview. She was there for a specific purpose, and it was to promote, and discuss, this film she's in. Not any plastic surgery she has had in the past. If Kelly wants to talk about that, then she needs to book Fonda for that purpose. As for Debra Messing? Seriously CG, you don't understand why she was upset? Kelly asked a fan of the Will & Grace show if he became gay because of a fictional character. Science, which I know many Fox viewers deny, has proven that LGBTQ isn't a choice, any more than you being heterosexual. Science has proven this, time and again. So for Kelly to ask that question? Just shows how ignorant she is. And many of her viewers, who happen to also be Fox viewers (I read somewhere today, an article, where the writer didn't highlight or change don't color any part of the article) that the core dealership of Kelly's show is projected to be Fox viewers who enjoyed her on Fox. Maybe Kelly knows this, and is playing into their perceived (and often correctly perceived) ignorance. But that question was just below the belt and insulting to LGBTQ people, and Will & Grace crew, as well as anyone with a brain. Carrie Courter

79-year-old Jane Fonda dropped by Kelly's show along with Robert Redford to promote their newest film "Our Souls at Night". The actress shut down the "Megyn Kelly Today" host when she attempted to steer the conversation towards plastic surgery instead of discussing the upcoming movie.
"You've been an example to everyone in how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically," Kelly complimented her guest before firing off question about going under the knife. "You admit that you've had work done, which I think is to your credit. And you look amazing. Why did you say, I read that you said, you're not proud to admit you had work done. Why not?"
Fonda looked unhappy as she gave Kelly a look and said, "We really want to talk about that right now?" Kelly tried to ease the tension, "Well one of the things people think when they look at you is how amazing you look," to which Fonda responded, "Well thanks." The actress quickly added, "Good attitude, good posture, take care of myself - but let me tell you why I love this movie, Our Souls at Night, rather than plastic surgery."
In a separate appearance, Debra Messing was joined by the cast of the "Will & Grace" revival. Kelly invited a "Will & Grace" big fan on stage and asked him if he's gay because of his love for Eric McCormack's Will Truman. "Is it true that you became a lawyer, and became gay, because of Will?" she asked.
"I look at Will Truman, I'm like, 'He has it made': lawyer, best apartment in New York City, and gay? Come on, trifecta," the fan responded. After giving the fan tickets to Los Angeles to attend a live taping of the sitcom, the host said, "I don't know about the lawyer thing, but I think the Will & Grace thing and the gay thing is going to work out great!"
Messing later expressed her regret for coming to Kelly's show. When a fan asked her on Instagram why she would appear on the show, the actress replied, "Honestly I didn't know it was [Megyn Kelly] until that morning. The itinerary just said Today Show appearance. Regret going on. Dismayed by her comments."
