maybe they need to change the host? maybe they need to
revamp the awards. I didn't know many of the shows only
to find out I had to have watched them on Hulu or Netflix

I
thought Melissa McCarthy was dressed as Sean Spicer until
they showed HER in the audience . Where
were the ABC/NBC/CBS shows? very very few. Surely people are
still watching TV other then Hulu and Netflix I watched it and afterwards thought - I coulda had
a SNICKERS BAR --LOL

Emmys Ratings 2017: Other Shows Took Over TV
Ratings, Leaving the Emmys Behind!

The Emmys always has a special place in people's
hearts! It gets viewership because of its star power,
and the fact that people want to see which of their favorite
shows will be recognized. Though the award show is popular,
the past couple years have seen a decline in viewership. We
have details of why that is, right
here!

  The
2017 Emmy's ratings have become a topic of discussion
overnight. Last year, it was recorded that the award show
was at its lowest rating, but this year looks bleaker than
ever! With an all-time low number in viewership,
some are confused as to why the award show did not do
as well as it should have. Read on to know what went wrong
and what was on-point at the Emmys 2017, along with the Emmy
winners of 2017.

Before
we get into the details, we should take a look at the major
awards and their winners. It was a glittery night, and
a good year for women on TV! With big wins and bigger names
behind the statuettes, we saw a great deal of new talent on
stage.The
show began with a musical number by Stephen Colbert, who
wasted no time in taking a shot at Donald Trump, and an
unexpected Sean Spicer entry that had
everyone shocked! All in all, the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards
kicked off the evening on a pretty high note!
It
wasn't long before that the infamous winged woman was
doled out in large numbers. While SNL
(Best
Variety Sketch) and The
Handmaid's Tale
(Best Drama) took the show by storm, a lot of women walked
away winners last night.Seasoned
actors like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who won Best Actress in a
Comedy for playing Selina Meyer in Veep, and
Nicole Kidman, who just won her first Emmy, continued to be
recognized for their talent, and fans were more than
happy about their wins!Sterling
K. Brown, who was seen in The People
V. O.J. Simpson last
year, won Best Actor in a Drama for This
Is Us. The
show garnered so much attention since its premiere that it
was too big to ignore! Donald Glover won not one, but
two Emmys last night for the FX comedy, Atlanta! While
Big
Little Lies
surprised a lot with its success when it first aired, nobody
was shocked that it won for Best Limited Series.
Overall, HBO beat out Netflix again with a whooping 29 wins
compared to Netflix's 20.While Game
of Thrones (which
is always a sure-winner at the Emmys) was not in competition
this year due to its late release date, there was a
slight relief from other dramas. The
Handmaid's Tale swept
the category away with Elizabeth Moss winning for Best
Lead Actress in a Drama. Saturday
Night Live won
the most number of awards—nine— including Alec
Baldwin's win for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy,
and Kate
McKinnon's Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy
win.Baldwin
took the night with his acceptance speech saying, "I
suppose I should say, at long last, Mr. President, here is
your
Emmy."

The
69th Primetime Emmy Awards definitely had a lot of talent
and laughs, managing to have higher TV ratings than last year,
when Emmy viewership was at an all-time low with 11.3 million. These numbers have not been so low
since 2013's 17.7 million, when Neil Patrick Harris
hosted the show.TV
took center stage Sunday night at the 69th annual Emmy Awards, airing
live on CBS from the Microsoft Theater in Los
Angeles. Stephen
Colbert hosted this year's ceremony, celebrating shows
like "Saturday Night Live," "Big
Little Lies" and "The Handmaid's
Tale."The
star-studded awards show saw plenty of celebrities walking
the red carpet and taking the the stage, including Oprah
Winfrey, Nicole Kidman, Jim Parsons, Alec Baldwin and Shemar
Moore. Check
