orry "Amazing Race" fans, it looks like the long-awaited Season 32 premiere just got even longer. CBS has pulled from the show from a planned May 20 debut.
According to a statement on the show's Twitter page, the show is going to be rescheduled for later in 2020, but no date has been given.
Naturally, fans are upset that the show is once again being taken off the air, and won't be back on until likely more than a year after the last episodes aired. One fan even used the show's own rhetoric against it.
It is unclear why the show has been delayed once again, but TV Guide reports that it was likely moved to make way for other programming instead. The time slot it was supposed to have is now going to the new show, "Game On!," hosted by Keegan Michael-Key, while "Amazing Race" host Phil Keoghan's new show, "Tough as Nails," will premiere on Wednesday, July 8.
"Tough as Nails" "puts the spotlight on hard-working, everyday Americans who get their hands dirty on a daily basis to keep the country running" and the individuals featured "will be tested for their strength, endurance, life skills and mental toughness in challenges set at real-world job sites," a description for the show reads.
It is unclear if the network plans to place "Amazing Race" to run alongside Keoghan's other show.
The removal of the show from CBS's schedule marks another shift for the series, which went from a two-season a year schedule to a one-season one a few years ago and is now going to be off the air for longer than a year. If it airs during the summer, it will also be the first time it has been pushed that late, with previous seasons airing at least in the winter mid-season or the Spring.
