Expect the Unexpected! Big Brother 22 Returns With New Twists, Turns and Shake-Ups

APRIL 7, 2020
Grab your key and open up the HoH room. It's time for the 22nd season of Big Brother! The hit summer reality show is back with another group of houseguests competing to become the last person remaining. Every week, they face extreme competitions, close-quarters conspiring and game-shaking powers as they avoid being nominated and subsequently evicted from the house.

Read on to find out everything we know so far about Big Brother season 22, including when it may premiere, any new twists and much more.

When will Big Brother return?

CBS has not officially announced when Big Brother 22 will premiere. Season 22 was confirmed when the network announced its new year-round 2019-2020 primetime programming lineup back in May 2019.

Any announcement of a premiere has been further complicated by the various shutdowns in production due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Hollywood Reporter wrote in April that CBS may be without one of its summer stalwarts due to precautions from COVID-19. However, though casting calls have been cancelled for season 22, casting director Robyn Kass has been encouraging prospects to apply online.

Who's in the cast of Big Brother 22?

The cast of Big Brother 22 has yet to be announced. Parade.com will share the information right here as soon as it becomes available.

Are there any new twists for Big Brother 22?

No formal twists have been announced for Big Brother 22. But there are bound to be shake-ups to the game, considering Big Brother is known for twisting up the show structure—including nominations, competitions, and evictions—for the houseguests over the years.

Where is the Big Brother house?

For nearly 100 days, houseguests live in a two-story house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and more than 113 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. The house is located on CBS Studio Center sound stage 18 in Los Angeles.

In early January, host Julie Chen Moonves posted a photo of a bare house on her Instagram. It's assumed that the house is currently being renovated by the production crew, and redecorated for whatever the upcoming season's theme may be.
