Re: [FunBBGroup] Free Showtime & Epix

If you figure out a way to get showtime for a month Crystal ,  you can finish Homeland and get a good start on Billions .

Homeland had been surprisingly really good in season 8.

Thanks Jeff..  I saw commercials for Billions while I've been watching Showtime!  He looks like a nut on that show too.  I see that Rupert Friend, the actor who plays Quinn, isn't on the show since 2018, when I looked up his name on IMDB.  Bummer… I hope he doesn't get killed off too, especially if Carrie falls for Quinn.  I started on Season 5, but the show may shut off in the middle of me watching, when Showtime pulls the plug!

Get showtime for a month or two and finish all the seasons of "Homeland".. Season 8 is the last season and will be over soon .. Season 8 has been a very good one !

If you have time,  watch "Billions" after that . A really good show . Stars the actor who plays Brody .  It is a great show and got better each season !

Hi Jeff,

Gosh, I wish I had been watching when you were.  It would be fun to discuss.  I feel like I'm watching it in real time, but know that I am 4 seasons behind.  I basically had to watch the whole thing again, even though I realize now I had gotten to the beginning of Season 3 last time I watched it several years ago.  It was so good.  Carrie and Brody made me watch.  But then I finished Season 3 and you know what happens at the end.  At that point, I felt like the show was over for me..  I could stop right there.  But I still had a couple days left before Showtime goes away (today I think).  So I watched the first episode of Season 4.  It seemed boring to me, but I wanted to see if Carrie had the baby.  OMG, that baby they found to play her kid… looks exactly like Brody!   I had to watch the first episode of season 4 a second time and play closer attention and then keep going with it, because I just wasn't connecting.  But then a few episodes in, it had me hooked again.  Wow, Season 4 is pretty intense.  I'm on the last episode now, and so glad Carrie is now happier to be a mom to that baby.  Her dad just died.  I figure I got to season 4 and finish it before Showtime goes away.  My husband even noticed the show while I was watching Season 4 and started watching several episodes with me.  He never watches the shows I watch, rarely.  He's a channel flicker and either dozes off to something, has Big Bang Theory reruns going OR Two and a Half Men reruns (both shows I find amusing, so it's ok)… but nothing else we watch together.  He says shows like BB and Survivor are stupid and a waste of time, LOL.

But Season 4, so many awful things happened, Saul kidnapped, that terrorist uncle shoots his nephew (Carrie went and slept with the poor kid to use him, so sad), and then poor Farrah gets killed by the same terrorist and now he has escaped just when Quinn was going to blow him up.  My thoughts that Quinn has a thing for Carrie were kind of confirmed this season, so it will be interesting to see where it goes.  Oh, and Brody was in her drugged up delusions during the season at one point, what a teaser that was.  Is there any possibility that he is alive, that he was cut down at the end of Season 3 and somehow revived?  I don't know… but Carrie's little daughter, I hope she will be a good mom and the baby will be ok.   So I'll finish this last episode and will have to find the last 4 seasons with another venue.  Or perhaps subscribe to Showtime just to get thru Season 8… I see it's airing now.  Is Season 8 the last one, or don't you know?

Since I discovered that Showtime and Epix are currently free on our cable, I have been watching "Homeland" again.  I must've started watching it via DVD about 5 or so years ago.  But stopped at the end of Season 2, just never got the chance to go back to it even though I really liked it.  There's been quite a few seasons since then and I see it's still on the air with Season 8 showing current episodes on Showtime.  I don't think I'll get near Season 8 before next week (I hear they will end the free channels next weekend).   Have any of you watched the full series?  I had to basically start from the beginning again to refresh myself.
