Re: [FunBBGroup] COVID-19 numbers

I think people somehow are comforted in thinking if I have enough toilet paper I can survive this pandemic .

Personally I want to have plenty of food in my pantry . But I guess it helps people to think they will be able to wipe their butt in these trying times !

I don't understand how people can think that.  Well, I know where it started, where people got the idea that it's a political hoax or political tool.   Sadly that theory was promoted for over a month to people who refuse to believe facts.

I really hope the new death estimates are high.   And I keep reminding myself of all the good.

In other news, people need to stop hoarding food, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies.   Seriously, to ensure we get what we need, I can either send my son to the store and hope there are items we want/need, or go at 6am during the two hour seniors and high risk hours, to be sure I get what we need.   As a high risk person with 3 conditions that make me high risk, it irks me.   I'd do delivery, but over half of what we usually get we can't get....   I can't believe I am saying this, but I look forward to the day when I can buy Charmin toilet paper and chicken breasts again.

No there are still too many people who think it is a made up panic for political/business gain.

Sorry to hear about your wife's friend.  I hope she recovers and soon.  Yea, I don't think anyone here is thinking this virus is nothing...  I know I've been terrified about it, i'm afraid to even go food shopping but have no choice as delivery slots and pickup slots are all taken for up to a couple of weeks and there's no more to even choose.  My husband has been going food shopping the last few times but that doesn't make me feel any better because I worry for him.  Our numbers here in NJ just keep going up and up and it doesn't feel like there's an end in sight.  We've been locked down for about 2 weeks and schools have been closed for about 3 weeks.

We live in a town of about 45,000 outside of Raleigh NC .
My wife found out one of her good friends she worked with and lives not far from us has Covid-19 and is on a ventilator.  She is still alive and fighting. This virus can get anyone .
Be careful and be safe ! Please do not Pooh Pooh this virus. It can be deadly.

This link shows current numbers for all countries.   It also is charting new cases from day to day.

Warning, don't look if you are struggling, it can be overwhelming.   But it's quite detailed though.
