Marie Osmond has been hired to replace Sara Gilbert on The Talk, it was revealed on Wednesday.
According to TMZ, the producers want the Love Songs singer because when she was a guest star on the show in February, the ratings went way up.
The big announcement will be made live on Tuesday's show, it was also claimed.
But according to the site's sources, many of the women on the talk show had wanted someone hipper to share the round table with.
The current cast members are Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, Eve, and Sheryl Underwood.
'They feel a better replacement for Sara would have been someone younger and edgier ... not the 59-year-old singer. But, the bosses laid down the law, and Marie is a go,' a source told the site.
Marie starred on a talk show with brother Donny from 1998 until 2000
Marie is still starring in her Las Vegas show with Donny which means she will have to fly back and forth to New York City to do both gigs.
The Talk debuted in 2010 on CBS and has seen many women come to the table.
The original cast was Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne.
In September 2018 Chen left the show as the longtime moderator.
She announced the news at the end of the show's episode in a taped message, fighting back tears as she shared her decision with viewers.
Chen had not yet appeared on the show's ninth season, and announced that she would be going on indefinite leave after CBS forced her husband Les to resign as CEO and chairman.
Ten days later she made the leave definite, stating: 'I have been at The Talk since the day it started nine years ago and the cast, crew and staff have become family over the years. Right now I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So I have decided to leave The Talk.'
Marie is best known for her fame in the 1970s when she had the hit song Paper Roses and starred on a The Donny & Marie Show.
She had a comeback in 2007 when she competed on Dancing With The Stars.
Soon after she lost 50lbs with the help of NutriSystem and then the offers flooded in.
Her Vegas show with Donny came soon after.
This news comes after she told DailyMail.com that she plans to celebrate Mother's Day with her family..
'I have to have my grandkids with me, okay? I have four and two on the way, so I'm super excited,' the star said.
And the brunette beauty from Utah added, 'Mothers' Day's coming around and my daughters that are married, obviously they have their Mothers' Days.
'Sometimes we'll celebrate early or after, so they can have their own celebrations, and sometimes we'll celebrate all together.
'But whatever it is, I have to have my grandkids with me, okay?' she added to DailyMail.com.\
She has eight kids — three biological and five adopted children.
Marie welcomed her first child, son Stephen James Craig, with husband Stephen Lyle Craig in 1983.
After the star and her first husband divorced in 1985, Marie wed Brian Blosil in 1986.
Marie later gave birth to the couple's two biological children, Rachael and Matthew.
She and Brian also adopted five kids — Jessica, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Abigail — together.
Sadly, the star's son Michael passed away at age 18 in February 2010.
Osmond is married for the second time to Steve Craig. They wed in 2011 after divorcing in 1985; their first wedding was in 1982.
The siren has become a role model for women in their fifties who want to stay slender.
In 2017 she told DailyMail.com NutriSystem helped her learn how to eat: 'I never used to take care of my body but now I've learned about balance.
'I have been through starvation and dieting. You can't run on no fuel. I've learned about portions and balance and what I'm supposed to do to maintain my weight and energy,' she said.
Marie got her start in the 1970s with the music group The Osmonds. She then went solo with the singe Paper Roses and had more success with This is The Way That I Feel.
In March Donny and Marie announced the end of their Las Vegas show after 11 years of performing at the Flamingo Hotel.
The duo appeared on Good Morning America on Thursday to break the news to their fans.
And over the weekend the beauty took to Instagram to share her feelings. 'This week my brother Donny and I made it official: we will be taking our final bow this November at the @flamingovegas. We were very prayerful in coming to this decision and we both feel peace about it.'
But then she went on to say, 'Nevertheless… it is so HARD to think about parting ways with so many amazing, talented and hard-working people who have become our "family" these past 11 years.
'I wish I could name each of them but this post would run for several pages!
'Then, there's you—our dedicated and loyal friends, fans and acquaintances. Thank you for coming to our shows, some of you returning many times over. None of this would ever have been possible without you. How much do I appreciate you?! You have made all the difference. You have made us who we are.'
The Nutrisystem spokesperson then turned her attention to Donny.
'I have always tried to remind myself that Donny is my brother first and my business partner second.
'I know the Lord placed me here for "such a time as this." He knew I would need the support of my brother.
'Donny has been with me through some very difficult trials!! (read more about this on my FB page or @ MarieOsmond.com/sundaymessage).'
She added, 'I am so grateful to God for "saving me" by arranging my life and talents for this show and putting my sweet brother by my side.
'The special blessings which have come over these past several years have been so tender—some too personal to mention.
'Others have created some amazingly beautiful silver linings such as becoming a grandmother, meeting the man of my dreams all over again and then remarrying him.
'My husband is truly the love of my life. And so, I look ahead to the reality of one door closing and another opening up.'
Marie wrapped up with: 'The other night I turned to Donny as we took our spots for the opening of the show and said: "Hey D, let's just have fun with every show as we count down to the last one… let's enjoy every moment."
'Saying good bye is never easy, but as Donny said "It's the end of The Donny & Marie Show, it's not the end of Donny and Marie."'
