Tonight,
The World's Best continued its battle rounds with pretty much precisely what you would: More intensity, and more great performances! This article is designed as your guide to all of the fun, and also debates as to whether or not these judges/The Wall of the World are making the right choice.
..
Kukkiwon vs. Los Vivancos – We wish that we could say that this was a close competition, especially since Los Vivancos are legitimately great at what they do. They're super-skilled and very magnetic to watch. Yet, they were also against a talent buzzsaw tonight in one of the most impressive martial-arts demonstration groups that we've ever seen. Kukkiwon is just on another level and it really feels like they're one of the biggest contenders, at least outside the singing category, for winning the whole thing. Winner: Kukkiwon.
Space Cowboy vs. Nina Conti – For some reason (apparently, they didn't have enough acts), Space Cowboy was brought back so that he could electrocute himself in front of everyone. There's a small chance that Space Cowboy could be a supervillain. This was weird … and Nina was fantastic! She made probably the biggest leap from one performance to the next and this was really fun … even if she's not the singer that we have with a Terry Fator or a Darci Lynne. Nina won this, and it wasn't even close. Winner: Nina..
William Close & the Earth Harp Collective vs. Naturally 7 – What these two acts do is incredibly unique — there are vocal groups out there, but none of them do the sort of thing that either one of them can. We have a soft spot in our heart because of what Close brought to America's Got Talent many years ago, but it's also pretty darn hard to argue with the choice that the judges made here in the end. Naturally 7 can just do so much with so little — we were just shocked that it was such a runaway decision with all of the judges on the Wall of the World. Winner: Naturally 7.
Duo Suining vs. Dundu Giants of Light – This was a showdown between interesting, emotional acts. In the case of the former, we've got an act that is about balancing and trying to find the beauty and difficult, physical acts. For Dundu Giants of Light, meanwhile, it was about telling a broad story through puppets. We do agree with Drew Barrymore that there needs to be more from a storytelling perspective, but they do have an ability to tell stories that you wouldn't see almost anywhere else. Winner: Dundu.
Emotional Line vs. TNT Boys – We certainly do feel for Emotional Line. They got this second chance on the show only to likely know that they were walking into immense competition and a serious threat to win the whole thing. These boys have huge voices, tremendous skill, and are also just inherently likable. We knew that TNT Boys would win in a landslide — good on Emotional Line for getting a few votes from the Wall of the World, but this was over almost before it started … and the TNT Boys somehow managed to up their game with an incredible performance! Winner: TNT Boys.
