NCIS: Los Angeles: The Answer to Why Hetty Has Been Missing This Season

Season 10 of NCIS: Los Angeles has been one without the presence of its fearless leader, Henrietta "Hetty" Lange (Linda Hunt), who is much needed following the disastrous off-the-book operation in Mexico to rescue Executive Assistant Director Shay Mosley's (Nia Long) son that has her team under investigation.
So even as as Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) are asking: Where is Hetty? Fans want to know, too.
After all, it isn't the first time the character disappeared. Just last season she was held hostage in Vietnam and we didn't know what was happening with her for several episodes, but for this season, the answer is not storyline dictated.
Hunt was involved in a car accident back in July and was taken to the hospital, following which she was released. She had figured to return at the beginning of the season, but such turned out to be the case.
Here is her statement:
"I first want to say how much I appreciate the outpouring of support from the NCIS: Los Angeles fans following my car accident this summer," said Hunt. "Though I had hoped to return to playing Hetty at the start of the season, I had to take some additional time to recover. I look forward to returning later this season."
NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
