Contestant Who Was a Favorite on 'The Voice' Dead at 49

A woman who is described as one of the most beloved contestants to appear on the NBC singing competition "The Voice" has died. TheBlast reports that Beverly McClellan died Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. She was 49..
McClellan was the third runner-up on the first season of "The Voice."
"We're told McClellan had been in a hospital in California receiving treatment, as her cancer had taken a turn for the worse in recent months. She passed around 4:30 PM surrounded by close friends and her loving wife, Monique," TheBlast reports. "McClellan became a fan favorite in the first season of 'The Voice' after belting out 'Piece of My Heart' and joining up on Christina Aguilera's team."
McClellan was reportedly diagnosed this year with stage 3 endometrial cancer that had metastasized to many other parts of her body.
