Can you believe that we're almost at the end of
Big Brother 20 ? The finale is airing on CBS Wednesday night, and during that you will have a chance to see either Kaycee, Tyler, or JC walk away with half a million dollars.
There are still some things that need to happen (at least on the show itself) to get there — competitions need to be featured, and we're going to also get a chance to see a jury roundtable that will hopefully be entertaining in its own right.
In CarterMatt's interview with Allison Grodner this week, we wanted to talk a little bit about the jury, but also about the fairly-large number of showmances the past few seasons and also whether or not she is already thinking about possible returning players for down the road.

CarterMatt – It feels like these past few seasons we've seen an increased number of showmances, including the three from this season that seem to be still going strong.. Is that something that is being emphasized more in casting, or is it just something about people actually getting away from technology and communicating with each other?
We do cast a lot of single people on the show, but showmances are not our priority when picking Big Brother houseguests. I think the intensity of the game and the 24/7 nature of the show bond people like nothing else. You are seeing people as they really are and how they handle stress and the roller coaster of emotions in the house [and that] says a lot. Being with a person night and day, there is nothing you can really hide. This intense environment has created many showmances that have become long lasting relationships and marriages.
How do you think the jury at the moment compares to some of the other ones we've seen? What's your sense of them?
This is going to be a tough jury for the finalists. Level 6 has sent every single one of these people packing so there are some hurt feelings. I do think that many of these people respect good game play but it will be interesting to see if anyone will be able to be objective and rise above their resentment.
Is this a point where you start to look at and discuss contestants you may want to bring back for another season, or is that a subject you save for the other side of finale week?
I think there are some strong players in this group who would be interesting to see play again, but this is not something we are discussing at this time.
