We're staring the elimination of Swaggy C in the face on
Big Brother 20 tonight, and we have to say, we're not exactly fond of it.
Is Swaggy a great player? Hardly. He came into the season way to cocky and interested in making other people fear him as a competitor. Then, he openly took on the position of leader of his alliance, which hasn't worked out well given that even former alliance member Kaitlyn turned on him. Not only that, but Haleigh is also contemplating voting against him tonight — a night when many other member in the alliance are wearing Swaggy C shirts since clearly, you can't have enough branding. We feel like the branding and the third-person proclamations are probably a little off-putting to some viewers, but you also gotta ask yourself this — who would you rather have, Winston or Swaggy?
With Winston, you've got a guy whose appealing pre-game qualities are washed away by drab interactions with Brett on the live feeds and a personality that just feels like he's the same dude we've seen on every other season. Swaggy is entertaining, competitive, and he's fighting hard to be there. If he goes home tonight, he joins a long list of great characters who should have made it so much farther than he did. (Think in terms of Da'Vonne her first season or Joey back in Big Brother 16 — there are always big personalities who go home early.)
The thing that's probably the most disappointing this week is how little Swaggy's supposed alliance has actually done to help him or how little urgency they feel. Why isn't someone trying to conjure up some sort of elaborate scheme like some of what Tyler did last week? What about promising some better deals? We know that there are only a select few people who would vote to save Swaggy in theory, but we would have fought even harder for Sam in particular. Swaggy's done his best, but we don't give his allies a whole lot of credit for their help.
