'Dancing With The Stars' Athletes Edition Tripped Up By 'The Voice'

by
Dancing with the Stars: Athletes edition launch drew the biggest audience to ABC's  8-10 PM timeslot in nearly six months, but clocked the long-running dancing franchise's series lows for a regular episode in both demo and total viewers.
Conversely, The Voice climbed 1/10th compared to previous Monday.
After which, the season finale of NBC's Good Girls (0.9, 4.24M) hung on to last week's numbers, outstripping ABC's The Crossing (0.5, 3.80M), as well as CBS's Elementary (0.6, 4.68M) season debut in the demo. Elementary took over in total viewers, though the season opener dropped 23% in that metric compared to last season's opener, also sliding in the demo, from 0.8.
Airing in the eye of the reality competition series brawl cost CBS's Kevin Can Wait (0.8, 5.02M) and Superior Donuts (0.7, 4.14M) 1/10th of last week's demo tally, but Man with a Plan (0.8, 4.79M) stayed the course. A  Big Bang Theory repeat (0.7, 4.16M) aired at 9:30 PM.
Fox's Lucifer (0.6, 2.82M) tumbled 1/10th in the teeth of the reality-TV skirmish to hit a series low. But 9 PM's The Resident (0.8, 3.87M) was stet compared to last week.
CW's Supergirl (0.5, 1.51M) jumped 1/10th as singing and dancing were duking it out; "iZombie" (0.2, 720K) was steady if modest.
NBC (1.4, 7.20M) won Monday' Big 4 derby in both metrics, taking all six primetime half hours in the demo. Dancing home ABC (0.9,6.90M) came in second. CBS (0.7, 4.58M) and Fox (0.7, 3.35M) tied for third place in the demo while CBS took bronze in total viewers. CW (0.3, 1.12M) followed.
