I so agree .Have an awareness show on sexual harassment in the workplace etc. but at and griping about the president and any other political stuff doesn't need to be on the night for awards .
This is a time to thank the fans for spending their money to go see them

Meant to DVR it but didn't. Looks like I dodged a bullet then since it became about all of the sexual harassment. It's supposed to celebrate the celebs, not put a pulpit up for for political views or opinions on any other serious subjects. Not the forum for that. Host a special about it, raise money and awareness and I will watch that and support it but not with the awards shows. Serious downer. I did not . 2018 Oscars Live Blog: Complete List of Winners Sunday, March 04, 2018 It's the biggest night of the year for Hollywood, the 90th Academy Awards. Once again hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, this year features The Shape of Water as the most-nominated film, with Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri as another top contender to win several awards. Opening: The show opens with a rather bland black-and-white, old-fashioned newsreel introduction. Jimmy Kimmel kicks his monologue off by talking about last year's Best Picture snafu, explaining that it's because the accountant tried to do comedy on their own. The whole monologue is about a lot of serious subjects like sexual harassment in Hollywood. He then does the typical jokes about a bunch of the nominees. It's OK, but nothing special. The best part is the ending, when Jimmy promises to give a jet ski to the winner who gives the shortest speech.
