RE: [Reality-TV-Fanatics] Celebrity Big Brother live feed spoilers: Nomination plans; Julie Chen on season 2 (day 21, morning)

I hope they do it again. Julie had to take a pay cut, but really, think about it, it was not three months long either.

If they have a season 2 I hope it is using better celebs.  Of course tho realistically I doubt top stars would come because BB would have to pay huge bucks to have them c9ommit to a few weeks . maybe these people were cheap enough

Celebrity Big Brother live feed spoilers: Nomination plans; Julie Chen on season 2 (day 21, morning)

Let's begin today's Celebrity Big Brother live feed update by talking a little about what the plan for nominations seems to be this week — and it looks fairly predictable.

For now, Mark McGrath as Head of Household seems to be intent on nominating Brandi Glanville and Ariadna Gutierrez as a means of splitting the two of them up. They are allies who are not too closely aligned with Mark; therefore, they are threats. Ross Mathews is looking pretty smart now in convincing Marissa Jaret Winokur to take a deal from Mark and James Maslow, since that is helping to ensure their safety for now.

The twist here is what happens if either Ari or Brandi win the Veto. Mark has a deal with Omarosa that he would keep her safe this week, one dating back from when she was Head of Household; also, he recognizes that if Omarosa goes up there's a good chance that Ross flips and works to get rid of her instead of one of the intended targets. Therefore, Mark is considering nominating either Ross or Marissa as a replacement nominee just to ensure that the votes all fall the way that he wants.

It's still early in the day, so we'll see if that changes.

Julie Chen talks potential season 2

In the past it seemed as though Julie was resigning Celebrity Big Brother to be a one-time event or some sort of Olympics fill-in. Now, however, her tone seems to be changing somewhat after some decent ratings — at least given the circumstances.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Chen did acknowledge the solid ratings for the series, but also that there are scheduling challenges to making it work:

I wouldn't rule it out! Who knows? It's definitely possible.. With these ratings, it did what we hoped as opposed to running repeats of the current slate of shows. It all depends how well all the shows on the air are doing. But don't forget, B.B. takes up a lot of real estate on the prime-time schedule. We are used to having at least three nights to air in a week. CBS is known for having a strong schedule of shows year round so it's hard to say right now what will happen next winter.

We'll reiterate what we've said in the past about this already in that it does make a little bit of sense to just air Celebrity Big Brother in late January / early February. There are typically some CBS programming breaks in that time, anyway, and it just means fewer weeks of repeats for some other favorites.
