[FunBBGroup] The Four Review

I just finished watching season one of "the four" and was honestly less then impressed.

The premise of the show is that there are 4 singers that are "the four" and the episodes consist of challengers who want a chance to battle a member of the four.

The series starts off on a bad note to me in that the 4 are selected off screen before the first episode.  What makes them worthy?  We don't really know but no time to care because challenger one is coming.  As a result we neevr really care about them or if they win or lose their challenge.

The other bad point is that by episode 3 it was clear to everybody who the judges wanted to win.  They made no secret of it.  It is often complained that american idol judges inflence the voting (and they did) but on the four they are point black obvious about it.  In one episode they didn't want to allow a singer who had a great performance to challenge the four because they didn't want their favorites to possible lose. Ultimately they did and the favorite lost but don't worry.

So on the episode before the finale they bring back 4 people who had previously been defeated..  It is only 6 episodes and you are bringing people back?  and one is the singer the judges wanted to win... shocking.

So on the episdoe before the finale, all 4 members of the 4 are defeated in challenges.  So the reward of watrching people several weeks defend their seats is they all leave before the finale.  but the judges favorite is back.

The one good thing is that in the finale the jude's favortie did not win and the most deserving of the 4 did.  The favorite had a bad night and there really was no way they could have voted for her but I really expected them to.

The format where you couldn't get to connect with the fingers, the judge's complete bias, bringing back players, and then replacing the whole 4 before the finale made for a lackluster at best show.  If it comes back I don't think I'd watch again.
