I disagree, very strongly. A woman going public about a sexual assault or harassment she endured years ago is giving a voice to the woman being sexually assaulted or harassed today. Today's victim, because of all these women coming forward from their victimization years ago, has a greater chance at being taken seriously.

As recent as last year, we had judges suggesting the victim wouldn't have been had they just.......just dressed better. Just not drank, just not attended a party. Never did these judges look at the man and say, hey, dude, you had zero right to touch this victim. Nope, judges in our court systems were excusing the rapists because the victim did something they felt contributed.

No means no. Period. And I'm sad more are coming forward because I wish so many didn't experience it. But I'm glad so many are finding their voice. And I hope and pray victims today, the new ones, get justice these others won't ever get.

Keep in mind, in most cases, these "Me, too's" will never get justice. Ever. Statute of limitations. Sadly, we've lived in a society where they wouldn't have gotten justice when the assault or rape happened. These women coming forward? They aren't winning. They know full well that many women are doing just like you have done, questioned them, their motives, their story.

All those women aren't helping by coming out years later. They should have said something when it happened, but by staying silent they just allowed the treatment for themselves and for others after them.

Maybe it is a start, maybe you are right. I just think they should have been voicing it all along.

Just shows that even in this decade women are viewed as "less than" by many, far too many, including women :(

I miss the days where Bill Cosbys acts were just scandalous and horrible. Now it's become, ok, who is next to be made public about them sexually whatevering their victims. But, I'm glad more victims are finding their voice every day. I hope victims feel safer coming forward, both against the famous and the people in our communities.
