The Voice returns for the second part of the Knockouts, and the pressure is mounting. The performers get to pick their own songs in this phase of the competition, and it goes really well for some and not so great for others. Kelly Clarkson returns as the key adviser, and she delivers enthusiasm, investing in every singer. She's getting a lot of great practice for her run in season 14, and every performance benefits from her advice.

The Voice Recap: The Knockouts Begin with Adviser Kelly Clarkson >>>

Brooke Simpson ("Natural Woman") vs. Stephan Marcellus ("Impossible")

Both performers have huge voices, according to their coach, Miley, but they are really different performers. Brooke sings for her husband, and she emotes a lovable quality that Kelly notices immediately. As Stephan looks on, you can tell he's feeling the pressure. Since he forgot the words to his song in the Blind Auditions, he's got a lot to prove in these Knockouts. Kelly remarks on his sexiness and his impressive low tones, and he delivers an unforgettable performance.

Result: Brooke wins, and Marcellus goes home.

Anna Catherine DeHart ("Breathe") vs. Mitchell Lee ("I'll Be")

Blake pairs these two together because of their unique tones but also because they have such incredible stage presence. Anna Catherine takes on a hard song with her Faith Hill cover, and she falls a little flat in rehearsals. Mitchell describes his sound as "Palmetto Rock" because he's from South Carolina, but the Edwin McCain cover really suits him. Both come out strong on the night of the Knockouts, and you can tell they are desperately trying to take both Blake and Kelly's advice.

Result: Mitchell wins, and Anna Catherine goes home.

Jeremiah Miller ("Sorry") vs. Noah Mac ("Hold Back the Water")

It's fun to see Kelly and Jennifer get so smitten with these two young performers. Jennifer flat-out calls Jeremiah "sexy," and Noah moves Kelly to actual tears during rehearsals. Jeremiah uses his pop vibe to take on the Justin Bieber hit and delivers a good performance for such a hard song choice. Noah owns the stage. To quote Miley as she watches, "Damn, that's dope." Noah's performance brings the coaches to their feet, and it's a clear hit.

Result: Noah wins, and Jeremiah goes home.

Kathrina Feigh ("GIrl on Fire") vs. Keisha Renee ("I Hope You Dance")

Blake is at a loss for explanations after the rehearsals. He can't imagine why he put them together because they are both so soulful and talented. Kathrina takes on the Alicia Keys classic and does it justice, for sure. However, Keisha is demolishing boundaries by taking on the country hit. She blows the roof off the place with her performance.

Result: Keisha wins, and Kathrina goes home.

Moriah Formica ("Behind These Hazel Eyes") vs. Whitney Fenimore ("Calling All Angels")

Moriah takes a big swing by singing a Kelly Clarkson song right in front of Kelly Clarkson. Luckily, thanks to that huge voice, she does it justice and Kelly approves of the rock and roll version of her very personal hit. Whitney has come a long way from grappling with anxiety and panic attacks, and she uses her song as an anthem. Whitney's performance is emotional and finds its sweet spot between rock and Americana. Miley is sweating the decision, literally, and she really agonizes over having to choose between these two singers.

Result: Moriah wins, and Whitney goes home.

Adam Pearce ("Smoke on the Water") vs. Emily Luther ("Glitter in the Air")

These two singers couldn't be more different. Adam pairs them to see who is going to bring the better show, and it's almost impossible to choose who's better. Adam Pearce is a true rock and roll singer, and he picks a classic rock song to show off his chops, although Adam L. coaches him to lose his guitar. Emily is a classically trained opera singer who is, as Adam puts it, "almost too perfect." Kelly says she's a mix of Karen Carpenter and Florence and the Machine, and you have to just hear her to believe her.

Result: Emily wins, and Miley unexpectedly steals Adam Pearce.

Jennifer is the only coach with a steal left. Which singer do you think she should have grabbed up from this episode? And were you surprised that Miley stole Adam? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
