CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley weighs in on the "challenging" show ahead

This year's "51st Annual CMA Awards" will be handed out Nov. 8, just a few short weeks after 58 country fans lost their lives in the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. Hundreds more were injured, and CMA Awards host Brad Paisley knows he and co-host Carrie Underwood will need to address the loss during the broadcast.
He tells "Rolling Stone," "We're not going to ignore it, but we're not going to also dwell on that. We have to make sure we honor those we've lost, but we also [have to] celebrate this music, which lives on, and do a good job having the heart we need to have on that night. And also the theme of the show this year is very much about unity and coming together as a format."

Brad goes on to say he and Carrie feel the pressure to handle the situation respectfully, and he's feeling good as they prepare to host the CMA Awards for the 10th year in a row.

He continues, "This is a challenging year in some ways, but at the same time I'm really honored we have the keys."The CMA Awards air Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
