Last time on Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, Cole won immunity, which made Ben very unhappy. The votes were split between Joe and Desi, and so everyone voted again.
Surprisingly, Desi was voted out of the game and became the first member of the jury.

Lauren saved her vote for an upcoming tribal council with her secret advantage. This episode of Survivor, titled "Fear of the Unknown," has members of the Solewa tribe questioning who is loyal, as well as who is next on the chopping block. (Hello, paranoia!)

Some Secrets are for Sharing

Morning dawns after tribal council, and Dr. Mike is once again bewildered by his tribal council experience. He voted for Joe, just as he was told, but his ally Desi, went home instead. Dr. Mike sees the writing on the wall, and decides that it is time to separate himself from the rest of the Healers. Dr. Mike has an idol, as does Ryan, but Dr. Mike decides to complain about Cole stealing peanut butter. The method to Dr. Mike's madness is trying to insure that Joe and Cole become even more despised by their tribe mates so one of them will go home next.

Ben and Lauren chat about how stealthy she was at pretending to vote at tribal council. Lauren wants to discuss what happens when they get down to just the remaining seven contestants of the "round table" that make up the Heroes and Hustlers alliance. Ben reassures her that they will start eliminating other players, and Lauren believes that sharing her secret with Ben tightens their alliance. So, that means that their partnership will disintegrate at any moment.

Ryan and Devon, having renewed their fantastic bro-mance, discuss strategy. Devon is worried about what will happen when just the seven members of the alliance are left. Ryan tells Devon not to worry "because I have an idol in my pants." The duo hugs it out with some fist bumps and slapping each other on the back. Ryan is happy to share his secret with Devon because he wants to make Devon dependent on him so that Ryan can make it to the end. (Wait --  the bro-mance isn't real?)

Reward Challenge

The contestants are divided into two teams, and will swim to a floating platform with a ladder. They will then leap from the ladder into the ocean and untie an underwater key. When a team has three keys, they will unlock a chest and shoot five balls into net baskets. The winning team will board a yacht where they will tour the Fijian islands while snacking on sandwiches and chocolate cake and drinking red wine, and cold beer. Finally -- Probst busts out some chocolate!

This challenge looks terribly daunting. The Blue Team is comprised of Ashley, Ben, and Devon for the swimming challenge, and Ryan and Lauren for shooting baskets. The Red Team concists of J.P, Cole, and Chrissy in the water while Dr. Mike and Joe shoot baskets. The Red Team is the first to get all their keys. When team members are shooting baskets, other team members are retrieving the balls. All in all, this challenge looks exhausting. Joe gets three baskets in a row for the Red Team, and Ben does the same for the Blue group. Joe finally wins the challenge, and his team is ecstatic.

The Reward

Joe is excited to eat, but more excited to shake up the game. Chrissy laments the fact that she is not sharing the reward with her alliance, but she is gleeful that she "can control the conversation."

The group sits down to bagels, roast beef, and cheese. The chocolate cake is enormous, much to everyone's delight. Joe slices into the cake and digs around looking for clues. When that fails, he runs around the yacht looking for clues. Say what you will about Joe's annoying personality traits, but the man is determined. The yacht cruises by the Solewa camp, and just in case anyone questions if the huge yacht powering by is the same one that their tribe mates are on, the crew sounds the ship's whistle. Awkward! Ben, Devon, Ashely and Ryan moon their tribe mates from the beach.

Camp Life

Back at camp, Ryan and Ben talk strategy, and Ryan tells Ben that he has an idol. Ryan is hoping to build trust and power, and Ben is thrilled because if Ryan has it, then Cole doesn't. They agree that the seven-member "round table" alliance must hold strong. Joe is digging in the sand for idols that probably aren't there, but he clings to the hope that he has found so many other idols when he felt like giving up.

Dr. Mike, Chrissy, and Ashley are talking about Joe's beach excavation when he walks up. Joe decides to enrage his team mates, and insults Ashley by telling her that she will make the final three as "a goat." Ashley is upset, and Joe then tries to bully Chrissy. Chrissy walks away, and Ashley vows to fight to get Joe sent home next because he is obnoxious.

Ben and Devon go on a hike, and Ben realizes that he needs someone to work with him and Lauren. Ben's excitement over Ryan's idol has frosted into a realization that Ryan and an idol are a potent combination. Devon asks what plans Ben has when only the seven "round table" members are left. Of course, Ben tells Devon that he wants to sit next to him at the end, and Ben likes what a good heart Devon has. But Ben cautions Devon that everyone in the Heroes and Hustlers alliance has secrets, and Ben drops the bomb that Ryan has an idol. Devon manages to seem shocked, and he certainly is surprised that Ryan has told someone else about his idol. Devon decides that he can no longer trust Ryan, and ditches him in favor of Ben and Lauren. Ouch.

Immunity Challenge

Each tribe member will have heavy bars placed on their shoulders, which forces them into a squatting stance on top of a box. If a player allows the bars to go too low, a flag will pop up and if it goes too high, an urn filled with water will fall off the end and extinguish a player's fire. (Who thinks of these crazy challenge ideas?) Ashley is the first one to drop, followed by Dr. Mike. The final two players in the challenge are Healer Cole and Hustler Lauren. Cole's urn drops, and Lauren wins immunity.

Ben, Ryan, Lauren and Ashley fear that Joe or Cole have an immunity idol, so they need to split the vote. Ben proposes that four people vote for Cole, and three for Dr. Mike. Ashley argues in favor of Joe instead of Mike, but for some reason, Ben and Lauren are locked in their plan, and they are not budging. Or, at least Ben is. Ashley doesn't appreciate Ben giving her orders, and decides to try and put the target on Joe's annoying back.

Ashley gathers Chrissy, Lauren, and Devon together, and they decide to tell Ben that they want to get rid of Joe, not Dr. Mike. Meanwhile, Dr. Mike asks Ben who to vote for, and Ben tells him that they are voting out Cole. Dr. Mike realizes that everyone that he has ever trusted has betrayed him, so he gets ready to make a big move. He consults with Cole and Joe, and decides that he is playing his idol at tribal council.

Chrissy asks Ben why he is after Dr. Mike, and he responds that he is trying to get Dr. Mike to play an idol if he has one. Chrissy explains why she considers Joe to be a bigger threat, but Ben is trying to send Dr. Mike home because it is better for his individual game to keep Joe there. The rest of the Heroes and Hustlers are bristling at Ben's direct orders, and want their voices heard.

Tribal Council

Dr. Mike leans over and whispers for Joe to trust him, and Joe looks positively terrified. Joe tells Jeff that he is not part of "the round table." The three Healers acknowledge their dire situation. Chrissy brings up how brutal Joe was to both her and Ashley. Dr. Mike pipes up and says that he is disappointed in his tribe. He believes that the game should be played with morals and ethics, and that labeling Joe a villain and then not voting him out, is not playing the game in a moral fashion. Lauren scolds Dr. Mike and reminds him that he is putting a target on his back. Ashley points out that it is not possible to calculate the effect that personal relationships have on the game. There is a lot of chatter and confusion, and then it is time to vote.

The Vote

Before Jeff tallies the votes, Dr. Mike plays his idol. Mike gets two votes that do not count. Cole receives five votes, and is the ninth person voted out of Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. He is also the second member of the jury. Now that Cole is out of the game, he hopes to pursue a relationship with Jessica.

Are you surprised that Mike played his idol? Is Ben getting too much power? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
