The 2017 CMA Awards on Wednesday honors the best in country music. Gossip Cop has a full list of the winners below!
As Gossip Cop reported, the nominations for the 51st annual CMAs were announced in September with Miranda Lambert scoring the most nods. She was nominated in five categories, including Female Vocalist of the Year, which she won every year from 2010 through 2015. CMAs co-host Carrie Underwood took the title in 2016, and now the two pals will be competing again, alongside Kelsea Ballerini, Reba McEntire and Maren Morris.
This year's contenders for Male Vocalist of the Year are two-time reigning winner Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Keith Urban. Arguably, this year's Entertainer of the Year category is also a celebration of male vocalists as no female singers were nominated. Garth Brooks, who won the top prize last year, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban are all up for the big award.
According to the Country Music Association, winners are "chosen in three rounds of voting," with votes cast by "industry professional members of the Country Music Association." The association is comprised of "music executives, artists, publicists, songwriters, musicians, touring professionals and more from all around the world." To be eligible for the 2017 awards, artists had to release music between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017. In April, it was revealed Underwood would be one of this year's special honorees, receiving the International Artist Achievement Award.
And on the morning of the ceremony, some early winners were announced. Brothers Osborne is taking home Music Video of the Year for "It Ain't My Fault," while Musical Event of the Year was awarded to Willie Nelson and the late Glenn Campbell for "Funny How Time Slips Away." Gossip Cop will be updating the winners list live as the additional categories are announced during the CMA Awards ceremony, which is slated to start at 8 p.m. Eastern. Check out the list below!
