I was really surprised that Blake chose Esera over Adam but ADAM stole Adam and that might come to bite Blake in the fanny

Glad Addison stayed but kind of surprised that he went home . but knew Blake or Miley wouldn't want him Thought maybe Jen would but so many left hard to pick the right one

I am surprised tho that Chloe went with  Blake and not Jen

The Voice begins the Knockouts with singers from the same team pitted against each other. The singers are bringing their best performances, and it's creating impossible decisions for the coaches. Next season's coach, Kelly Clarkson, is around to be the key adviser, and she brings a much needed brevity to the heavy competition. Some really talented singers go home in this round, but the coaches get to use their last ditch steals to keep some.


Adam Cunningham ("Either Way") vs. Esera Tuaolo ("Superstar")

Both singers from Blake's team deliver incredible performances, but because their style is so different, it is a tough call. Adam's "lived-in voice," much like the original singer of his choice, is a bold choice in this kind of head-to-head competition. Esera's stoically emotional delivery of his song really showcases his range and talent. As tough as it is choose, Blake knows what he has to do.

Result: Esera wins, and Adam Levine steals Adam Cunningham

Lucas Holliday ("Tell It Like It Is") vs. Shi'Ann Jones ("Who's Loving You")

Kelly Clarkson is so excited to be a part of this show, and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is so amped to mentor these two singers. She says Lucas is the very reason she can't wait for her own Blinds next season. Her intensity proves a little much for the quiet Shi'Ann, but she gives a lot of helpful advice that ultimately makes Jennifer's decision even harder. Both singers deliver huge performances, but Jennifer can only pick one.

Result: Shi'Ann wins, and Lucas goes home

Addison Agen ("Beneath Your Beautiful") vs. Dennis Drummond ("All Along the Watchtower")

Adam stole both Addison and Dennis, so he pairs them together to get to know their voices a little better. Dennis has chosen the guitar-heavy "Watchtower" so he can use it to prop up the power of his voice. Folk-singer Addison connects to this genre at heart, so her voice is full of emotion and soul. Kelly is completely taken off guard by her voice, characterizing it as "comforting." With so many Adele references, Addison has a lot to live up to, but Dennis holds his own with his version of the Hendrix classic. Ultimately, Adam agrees with the other coaches and makes the hard choice.

 

Result: Addison wins, and Dennis goes home



Janice Freeman ("I'm Going Down") vs. Karli Webster ("Blue Bayou")

 

Janice's voice, as Kelly calls it, is a force. She takes on the Mary J. Blige song and totally makes it her own. Karli is no shrinking violet, however, and owns a country music classic in her Linda Ronstadt cover, and she pulls it off completely. Miley acknowledges that their voices are both very different, but they both have a unique power that makes her choice a tough one. As sweet and airy as Karli's voice is, the enormity of Janice's voice sort of just swallows it up.

Results: Janice wins, and Karli goes home

 

Davon Fleming ("I Can Only Imagine") vs. Eric Lyn ("What's Going On")

Jennifer pairs these two together because they do have such similar voices. Davon calls their sound "milky" while Kelly Rowland uses "velvety" to talk about Eric's voice. Kelly proclaims herself a true fan of Davon and is inspired by his unique sound. Adam even says he thinks Eric should be singing in a bar in outer space. Eric's version of the Marvin Gaye hit feels very personal, and he really made it his. Davon's worship song is really moving and has the coaches and the audience on their feet, waving their arms. Davon's presence completely overwhelms, and it's evident who wins that round.

Result: Davon wins, and Eric goes home

 

Ashland Craft ("Wanted Dead or Alive") vs. Chloe Kohanski ("Landslide")

Miley has built her team with some amazing female singers, and these two prove how powerful her team is going to be. Ashland performs a country version of a Bon Jovi classic. Miley calls her a "punk rock Dolly Parton," and Kelly says she's the "female Chris Stapleton." Either way, she is amazing. Chloe, on the other hand, is an interpreter, as Kelly calls it, and really tells a story. Chloe slows it way down, but she owned every inch of her space and time. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried right along with Kelly during that performance.

 

Result: Miley picks Ashland, but Jennifer and Blake both try to vehentmently steal Chloe. She ultimately picks Blake, and there is a lot of celebrating (me included).

 

 

I was obvioulsy moved the most by Ashland's and Chloe's performances. What were the best of the night for you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
