This is exactly what they should do ON THEIR own TIME .
You want to protest? Get out of uniform and go protest.

I do think the players are using the wrong forum for this. Once again it's like the awards shows. There is a time and place for it. They should respect the flag, our country and it's service members. They give them the right to do what they do, play a game for a living, and get paid millions to do it. They are not making any point to me by kneeling other than they are disrespecting the men and women that give their lives to give them the right to wear fancy jewelry, drive expensive cars, live in mansions and so forth. If the players have an issue with police brutality then come together and form a group off the field to fight to be heard. The message you are sending is disrespectful, not aimed appropriately at the right audience and are making a mockery of our flag and service members. The President should not have gotten involved. The media is making a bigger mess of it. The public have stopped caring about the why and are choosing sides of whether it is right or wrong or within constitutional rights or whatever. They have long forgotten the reason it started. We have much bigger issues in the country to worry about than this. Police brutality bad. Should be punished. Should not happen but it does and kneeling won't change it. Find a different way to bring this to the attention of the public instead of spitting on our service members. Form an advocacy group, get a motto, wear ribbons and tshirts, hold peaceful gatherings, pay to put the message out on broadcast TV, get out on social media, make posters. Whatever you wish to do to bring light to the actual subject. They are missing the target and point of the whole reason it started. Now it's been blown out of control and it doesn't matter what the original message was about. The message is now whether you support President Trump or not and depending on which that is how some of these sheep will go. My .25 cents. Just wondering your thoughts on kneeling? Big deal or making a mountain out of a molehill Question?? Should Trump have even got into this? What he said was while giving a speech .I don't think it was appropriate as President. Maybe as a private citizen. But as president? I just don't know. He as enough to worry about and doesn't need to add the sports to it. Yes its about disrespecting the flag but that should be the Owners problem to fix. It sounds like the owners and coaches really don't care if the players sit stand lay down then guess that is that. I don't know for fact if the viewing is down due to the kneeling r not same as sales down. Is it because of that? How many people have they contacted to ask ? I also think that if the media would stop making this a maj9or case and shows the players and talking about it all the time maybe they will grow tired of kneeling since the media no longer cares. ALSO I donot think Trump should have gotten into a nasty mouth tirade. Mnuchin: NFL players 'can do free speech on their own time'By Julia Manchester - 09/24/17 09:23 AM EDT Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin on Sunday defended President Trump's attacks on NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, saying members of the league "can do free speech on their own time." "I think what the president is saying is that the owners should have a rule that players should have to stand in respect for the national anthem," Mnuchin told ABC's Martha Raddatz on "This Week." "This isn't about Democrats, it's not about Republicans, it's not about race, it's not about free speech. They can do free speech on their own time. That this is about respect for the military and first responders in the country," he continued. Mnuchin's comments come after Trump launched a series of attacks on Friday night on NFL players who have chosen to kneel, rather than stand, during the national anthem to protest what they see as racial injustice in the U.S. "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now,'" Trump said, adding, "'He is fired.'" Mnuchin also defended Trump's colorful language in criticizing the players. "The president can use whatever whatever language he wants to use," Mnuchin said Sunday. The president doubled down on his remarks on Twitter Saturday, saying if those players do not want to stand during the national anthem, they should find something else to do. Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend! The league's commissioner, Roger Goodell, on Saturday also issued a statement condemning Trump's "divisive" rhetoric. "The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture," Goodell said. "There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we've experienced over the last month." | ||
