Read on to find out everything we know so far about Big Brother season 22, including when it may premiere, any new twists and much more.
When will Big Brother return?
CBS has not officially announced when Big Brother 22 will premiere. Season 22 was confirmed when the network announced its new year-round 2019-2020 primetime programming lineup back in May 2019. However, with California just beginning to reopen production spaces in June, rumors have swirled about the show returning for a premiere in mid to late July. Though there has been no official statement from CBS, outlets like US Weekly have theorized that the houseguests will be undergoing a 14-day quarantine (soon?) prior to entering the house.
As the days pass, though, an August premiere–if any premiere at all–seems most likely. On July 2, Deadline reported that construction on the house had officially begun, hopefully signaling production will start soon. However, their sources allege that producers still need to receive union and guild approval to sign off before they can begin actually filming. TMZ recently reported that the show recently pushed back their time table due to the spike in coronavirus cases in California, now expecting to begin a quarantined sequester at the end of the month.
Who's in the cast of Big Brother 22?
The cast of Big Brother 22 has yet to be announced. Parade.com will share the information right here as soon as it becomes available.
What are the rumors for Big Brother 22?
Though there has been no formal cast announcement, that has not stopped the rampant speculation of season 22 being an "all-stars" season of Big Brother. Various sources, including Us Weekly , wrote about the show eyeing returnees for its 20th anniversary season in early June, and the fan community has pounced on the idea to track who may be back for a second (or third) time in the house.
A number of names have been rumored as possible cast on season 22, including winners Kaycee Clark (season 20) and Josh Martinez (season 19). Other names in the mix include runners-up Tyler Crispen (season 20) and Paul Abrahamian (seasons 18 & 19), as well as fan favorites Janelle Pierzina (seasons 6, 7, & 14), Nicole Anthony (season 21) and Da'Vonne Rogers (seasons 17 & 18).
There's big Big Brother announcement coming on Sunday, July 12! CBS has set aside a full hour of programming for a mystery program that definitely seems related to the summer reality juggernaut. Don't believe us? Check out this tip from Alex Kidwell.
"OK yeah Big Brother fans are for sure gonna want to mark that 'TBA' programming scheduled for July 12, 8PM on their calendars. It's not a premiere but it's definitely something #BB22," he tweeted earlier this week.

Are there any new twists for Big Brother 22?
No formal twists have been announced for Big Brother 22. But there are bound to be shake-ups to the game, considering Big Brother is known for twisting up the show structure—including nominations, competitions, and evictions—for the houseguests over the years.
There are a few shows that are "in the can" like that season of Amazing Race that was supposed to air this summer that was filmed almost 2 years ago that was postponed for Tough As Nails, but very little else is guaranteed right now. They had filmed 3 legs of another season of TAR when they had to stop, and at least Europe seems to have the virus under control for the most part. I know Latin America doesn't and I don't think Asia's in good shape. Haven't heard about much of what's happening in Africa with this virus. Australia seems to be in trouble, but New Zealand has done quite well. So we'll see when TAR can get back going again on filming. We may get 2 seasons of TAR since it's not likely we'll get any Survivor at least in the fall

Right......I don't expect any or very few new shows in the fall. Maybe a couple of virtual shows but getting tired of those.

Not sure if we're going to have new shows in September yet since only 1 or 2 of the daytime soaps have gone back into production but none of the primetime shows have yet and July is usually when they start filming new seasons, so we'll see. At least there's a lot of good TV on streaming right now
