Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams just revealed to Women's Health why couple Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton haven't gotten much screen time this season.
According to Wells, "Chris got really sick in the middle of filming."

Medics insisted that Chris stay indoors and keep cool until his fever came down, creating literal distance between him and Katie.

Bachelor in Paradise season six is getting down to the wire, and with sparkling Neil Lane engagement rings on the line, everyone is wondering where their favorite couples stand. And if you're like me, you're just generally asking, "No, really, where TF are Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton?!"

Their one-on-one date on Monday night's episode finally gave fans some insight into their budding relationship—Katie opened up about feeling distant from Chris, while Chris insisted he wants to explore things with her—and only her. But as America's favorite Paradise bartender, Wells Adams, reveals there's actually a pretty good reason behind this cute couple's disappointing lack of screentime.

"Chris got really sick in the middle of filming," Wells tells Women's Health. "He got a stomach bug, so he had to go and get fluids, and when that happens, you don't want to shove someone out in the hot sun all day.."

According to Wells, who was observing all the romance and drama from behind the bar for a third season, medics insisted that Chris stay indoors and keep cool until his fever came down. So basically, when Katie says she felt distant—there actually was literal distance between them for awhile.

This certainly isn't Chris' first rodeo in Bachelor nation (he appeared on The Bachelorette twice, as well as a season of Bachelor Pad and two seasons of Paradise before this one), but this particular season might just have been the hardest.. Remember when he lost his lunch on that catamaran date with Jen Saviano a couple episodes ago?

"He was just, like, allergic to Paradise," Wells explains. "I felt bad for him."

So don't freak out just yet, Chris and Katie fans—Wells assures WH that they weren't just cut out of the show because they're boring, or because they didn't have a great connection. "He just wasn't feeling well for a lot of the shoot," Wells says. Case closed... at least until the reunion show.
