Kelly signed a three-year, $69 million contract after leaving Fox News but never became the ratings success that NBC had hoped for after launching "Megyn Kelly Today." She will receive the remainder of the contract, which was only halfway complete and was to end in spring 2020. As resentment toward her grew within the network, a segment about Halloween costumes — during which Kelly asked "what is racist" about blackface — led to her show being pulled off the air.
