Re: [FunBBGroup] the conners, my first impression

I loved loved it...….the entire cast, going thru their lines like "ping pong" just as though their "leader" was there....I see big results for them......and good on'um…...Lola

I never saw a single reboot episode.  So I can't compare.

I thought Jackie was portrayed as a person who was lost in her grief, not knowing what, exactly, to do.  I know in the original show she leaned on Roseanne for advice a lot.  And Roseanne bossed people around, so it made sense for Jackie to be lost to me.  We all grieve in different ways, and this just showed how one person was coping.

I thought it was well done. I had no idea how I would feel while watching the episode.

It was John Goodman who memorized me. He didn't have to say a word. As soon as Dan entered the room I had tears in my eyes. He was haggard, heart broken and looked like he might keel over at any moment. I know Dan is in mourning but a part of me thinks that the whole cast must feel a sense of actual mourning and loss without Roseanne there.

I wish it would have been an hour long. It felt a bit rushed, like they were trying to fit in as many characters in one episode as they could. I missed some of the reboot shows from last spring. Did the show ever mention Dan's father? Has he passed away? He was married to Crystal, correct? It took me a few minutes to realize it was Crystal sitting at the table..

I thought Jackie was a bit over the top. I wish the writers would tone her down just a smidge. I look forward to what the show has in store for the fans and I hope it does well in the ratings.

Time will tell.
