its not banning the gun that has to be but making schools more secure . These have got to stop!! How do they get these guns in the schools .There has got to be a metal detector att he only entrance to the school . All back packs need to be gone thru. Yes it will take more time to do this but better to take the time them go to funerals.

There was another school shooting Friday, this time at Santa Fe High School near Houston, Texas. The shooter is said to be in custody, and early reports indicate that multiple people were killed.

What we know so far:

• At least 8 students are dead following a shooting at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas
• A police officer was also injured in the shooting
• A Houston police official says that two people are in custody
• Police responded to reports of an active shooter at the school early Friday morning
• Officials are expected to brief the media at approximately 12 p.m. ET

Houston County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, who assisting the investigation, provided an update via Twitter:

On the scene now. No longer an active situation. Personnel treating the injured. Info is still preliminary, but there are multiple casualties. @HCSOTexas is on the scene with other law enforcement assisting in the search of the school.
