  Oh oh I have never seen this much squawk over a contestant. IMO  yes only 24 places and that is that. BUT while I like Caiti because of her quirkiness I really don't think she has much of a chance for advancement when its people votes. He was better then a couple others that should have left. Maybe they will reconsider if they happen to read Twitter.

Everyone was seriously shocked — and definitely unhappy.

American Idol has been struggling to win over fans this season, mostly thanks to a ton of awkward moments from judge Katy Perry and some pretty cringeworthy interactions. But the final straw for many viewers came last night, after judges made a controversial decision about contestant Thaddeus Johnson.

Even after his truly stellar performance of Jill Scott's "Hate On Me," the judges decided to send Johnson home. "He is a great singer, but sometimes things have to have a little grit to them," Perry said. Lionel Richie was the one who broke the bad news, saying to Johnson, "There's so much talent that we have to spread into 24 slots. We all think that now is the right time, but in this case, my friend, now is not the right time."

I have not missed one show since the very first season 15 years ago. This is worst mistake made in all the seasons. Thaddeus was a top 10 performer. Kind of hard to screw that up, but of course American Idol found a way. Dang it and I want to watch so bad, but not if it's a joke.
I mean wow. doesn't need . NEEDS THADDEUS JOHNSON.

As if the elimination wasn't heartbreaking enough by itself, this is actually the second time Johnson has been eliminated in a "Final Judgement" round on American Idol. He first competed on the show eight years ago, but was eliminated in the same exact round on that season.
In last night's episode, before the elimination, he remembered his original run on the show.
"I can't say that I'm not nervous going into the final judgement," he said. "I mean eight years ago, this is literally where I got cut. Then I wasn't ready, but I feel like God has really brought me through this journey in my life to be ready for this moment."
Heartbreaking.
But some viewers are still holding out hope that somehow Johnson will be back on the show, maybe with a "wildcard" spot, which on past seasons has allowed previously eliminated contestants to return.

BRING BACK THADDEUS. Y'ALL BETTER GIVE HIM A WILD CARD SPOT.

I'm not ready to tweet about @AmericanIdol yet, because Thaddeus. So happy for the 24, but Thaddeus. They deserve it, however Thaddeus. Imma need a wild card situation or something. Because Thaddeus.
