He had a horrible childhood, his half brother committed suicide by throwing himself under a train as an adult, he has a history of schizophrenia in the family..you would have to read a book to learn why he is this way.  His parents were not married when he was born he has been taken advantage of by managers and music associates... there is a reason..and the drugs and alcohol and chain smoking..  he always felt the need to prove himself but is extremely sensitive and often threw temper tantrums and burst into tears when opposed..

It is, but it also shows him to be very unlike what his public image is.. he was cold and calculating and mostly interested in being "relevant".. I was disappointed reading that every move he made onstage was timed and rehearsed..to the second.  He was the only performer who wore a watch onstage so he could make sure he didn't go over time on his supposedly spontaneous songs.. I always enjoyed watching him on YouTube though..

Not watching TV tonight, reading a David Bowie biography, Hallo Spaceboy.  Not as gossipy as I would have liked but extremely detailed about each of his albums and his songs and the producers..a little about his private very private life and how he dropped any friend or band member that talked about him..
not what I expected Sad smile  Next month HBO is broadcasting a program about his last 5 years..so interested to see it and how it compares to the book.
