CMAs Lift Media Restrictions After Angry Brad Paisley Tweet

Apparently, when Brad Paisley speaks, people listen.
Barely two hours after the singer and co-host of the CMAs criticized the organization for attempting to forbid reporters from asking performers about "the Las Vegas tragedy, gun rights, political affiliations or topics of the like" — under threat of credentials potentially being "revoked via security escort" — the ban has been lifted.
"CMA apologizes for the recently distributed restrictions in the CMA Awards media guidelines, which have since been lifted," the company said in a press release. "The sentiment was not to infringe and was created with the best of intentions to honor and celebrate Country Music."
Paisley, who had tweeted "I'm sure the CMA will do the right thing and rescind these ridiculous and unfair press guidelines. In 3…2….1…..," was quick to applaud the move, tweeting shortly after the statement was released:
"Bravo CMA awards for doing the right thing & apologizing for this mistake. All are welcome, let's have a great show."
The CMA Awards take place Wednesday night at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Performers include Paisley and fellow host Carrie Underwood, along with Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, Chris Stapleton and more.
